We will be having someone all of you know and respect. Nancy Skinner of radio and TV fame will be our guest on this weeks show. Nancy recently announced her candidacy for The United States Senate from Illinois. She is well-spoken, knowledgeable and, very entertaining as a guest. She was fired from her stint on "The Ski and Skinner" show last week because of her new political goal. She will have lots to say about that and the national political scene this Saturday. Net listeners are connecting and STAYING connected for the entire show.
The Hate mail is increasing.
The Guests are top-notch.

but, the show will be GONE soon.

during 3 of the last 4 shows there were 0 donations.

and here's the real kicker:

if everyone in the net audience sent .20 a month... they'd be fine. twenty cents for 12 HOURS of progressive democratic voices

so, if a fifth of the net audience sent $1 a month...

I KNOW a lot of DUers are supporters BUT...

we've GOT to find a strategy to keep this up long enough to find syndication or a 'serious' backer.

12. It's puzzling. The number of listeners explode and the donations DROP?!

I simply don't get "IT".

We need to figure out a very creative way to fund the show. Hell I wanted to buy the station but the train left the station on that nutty idea. Why I thought rich Liberals would want to buy a radio station in the middle of a place where it could actually do some good (as opposed to preaching to the choir 24/7) is beyond me.

Was it you that had the idea of 20-30 second "zinger" PSA's (Short blurbs blasting Bush of an issue ad) that people could buy for $30 a pop?


Something needs to be done. Hell if I thought that I was sucking the show up I'd be happy to just shut the hell up and donate:shrug:

Paypal to work. That was late June. I'm still on vacation and reading this thread so I tried again. It says something about an invalid URL. Is it just me or do other possible donors have the same problem? Maybe that's it.

it took me a while because it was the first time using Paypal. Thanks for the show, wish I could give more.

Just one suggestion. I listened three weeks ago because there was a post on DU. Then forgot to put the link in my favorites but looked for the post the following week and couldn't find one. This last Saturday there was a post and got my guyjames fix. Please keep up with the reminder posts on Saturday. 'kay?

48. A lot of people don't use Pay Pal.

I don't. In the past I tried to set up an account to donate to some candidates, and it never worked correctly. It would show me as not signed up, but it took my money. Or vice versa.

There were serious problems with Pay Pal at one time, and I think if donations are going down you should do some serious checking.

There is a big difference to me in using my credit card myself online, and trying to have a Pay Pal account.

26. Guy and Michael, I am still

interested in volunteering some help and brainstorming ideas to use the website more to encourage donations as well as interaction.

Previous ideas -

set up a yahoo group and then we can send out a weekly reminder/progarmming announcement/newsletter.

set up a blog that allows users to make comments. I could post more of our republican love notes, and all us evil duers could go debunk em. ;)

sell some banner space or some affiliate programs on the site

until we can archive the show perhps a few of us could help work on text transcripts, or at least an outline and topics that were discussed on the show..

Also I plan on working on posting to a few sites and email lists to remind about the show, and can add donations are still welcome. :)

The parade is the "biggie" for Fairbanks, celebrating the founding, (hence "Golden Days") and the brewfest had microbrews from all over the state!
