remember the kid in the Dick Tracy movie?
I caught a snippet of one of those "where are they now?" shows last night, and it seems that Charlie Korsmo is now on the staff of the House Homeland Security Committee . . . says he wants to run for office someday . . .

1. Republican or Democrat?
Despite all talk of "hollywood liberalism", it seems to me most actor/politicians are Republicans.

2. I caught that part, too.......don't think he revealed his leanings
but he has a degree in physics from M.I.T. and stated a couple of times he's always been interested in politics.

I would guess Repub though.

3. It makes sense.

Like Fred Grandy (Gopher from the Love Boat) most failed and washed-up actors have nowhere else to go except to get into acting for those who will pay them full time: the Republican party.

Reagan: bad actor, bad president. Couldn't even read a telepromptor well.

Fred Grandy: well the obvious...

Sonny Bono: ahem...

Fred Thompson: better off as an actor.

Ahhh-nold: save your evaporating career and stay out of politics muscle-boy.

Think of this. If John Wilks Booth had gone into politics instead of assassinating Lincoln he could have done worse to this country.

4. This kid really looked up to Warren Beatty
He was in "What about Bob","Hook" & recently(in 1998) "Can't Hardly Wait". His first movie was a film w/ Chris O'Donnel & Jessica Lange (can't remember the title) The kid is VERY smart! He said in an interview when he was promoting 'Can't Hardly Wait' that he was interested in politcs & the reporter then asked what co-star he liked the best & he said WITHOUT A DOUBT, Warren Beatty. Warren has been such a positive role model & he mentioned how he still keeps in touch with him. He sang praise for Warren Beatty for sometime. Me being a big Beatty fan, this always stuck in my mind. That & "Dick Tracy" was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid!

5. There have been some Democratic actor/politicians as well.
Sonny Shroyer (Enos from The Dukes of Hazard) represented Virginia in congress.

Nancy Kulp (Jane Hathaway from The Beverly Hillbillies) ran for congress in California.
