WASHINGTON (AP) - An Ohio soldier was killed in Iraq on Wednesday, the Department of Defense announced.
Army Spc. Brett T. Christian of North Royalton, a Cleveland suburb, was killed in Mosul when his convoy came under attack by rocket propelled grenades.

Christian is one of ten Ohio soldiers killed in Iraq since the war started March 19, according to the Defense Department.

1. 10 is also the number from Alabama.
I know the father of one soldier killed. Both Marines.

Dad (actually step-dad) cried last time I talked to him.

3. Laying in bed listening for footsteps
A young friend of mine has a husband in Iraq. She says everytime she hears of another soldier being killed she lays awake at night listening for the sounds of someone coming to her door to tell her that her husband is the latest casuality. She has heard from him twice this summer. His phone calls are monitored, so there are a lot of things he cannot tell her.
