After a suck day, this is what I find in my mail tonight.
This Cdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN (ret) clearly states "P.S. Please forward this to as many people as you can!" So DUers,
I give this to you. I'm sure the sender would love to hear that you received it, along with some of your carefully crafted words. I think I'll forward it to First Energy Corp, whoever they are. They might like to know what gehrings is doing at work.
:bounce:
Have fun.

Subject: Our Billy

Subject: BILLY AND hIS BRIDE.

Billy & His Bride

Vital info for all who value our military and the service of our people, young and old!

Billy And His Bride:

Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964, accepting all contractual conditions of registering for the draft. Given Selective Service Number 3 26 46 228.

Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968.
Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969.
Bill Clinton dishonors order to report and is not inducted into the military.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States Army Reserves on August 07,1969 under authority of Col. E. Holmes.

Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment.

Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of
Arkansas ROTC, September 1969.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) "registrant who has failed to report...remain liable for induction".

Bill Clinton's birth date lottery number is 311, drawn December 1,1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction is INELIGIBLE!

Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from justice under Public Law 90-40.

Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976), while a fugitive from justice.

Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977, from Carter.

Bill Clinton (FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON) ever to serve as President.

All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws, and various books that have been published, and have not been refuted by Clinton.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept those promises, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today.

AN INTERESTING QUESTION: This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question. There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the eight years in office, than Osama bin Laden? THINK ABOUT IT!

It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her
forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from two people who spent 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath!

Sincerely, Cdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN (ret)

P.S. Please forward this to as many people as you can! We don't want this woman to even THINK of running for President.

1. well
Surely he could come up with Bush's whereabouts during his TANG tour of duty, right?

How about Ronald Reagan, first divorced president ever (Family Values?)

Bush, first DUI conviction as president.

Bah, this guy's a moron. Surely someone else will take the time to utterly disprove his entire argument, but you can always ask him what Reagan did about the Marine Corps Barracks bombing in Beirut.

Another entirely false piece of right-wing crap. See:

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/politics/clintondraft.asp

Cmdr. McWhorter's name has been attached to a couple of these email slanders, but I remember reading somewhere that the real person, when contacted, disavowed any connection and was angry at the use of his good name.

Addendum: No one ever claimed that the Big Dog was a saint. However, nothing he did with regard to avoiding Vietnam was illegal and in no way does it compare with deserting an accepted and sworn duty, as G.W. did!

On edit: Addendum.

17. see
that's what got the whack job neocons all pissed off -- Clinton didn't immediately send the military off overseas to bomb the hell out of countries who MAY have had something to do with it. Damn bastard had to do things the LEGAL way with international cooperation and support.
How many folks get a slight warm fuzzy when they see the current misadministration now stumbling around the UN and NATO with their grubby bloody hands out? Pathetic losers. They WANTED this war so desperately and now they want someone else to clean up their mess. I for one hope the rest of the CIVILIZED countries continue to tell them to go to hell....

18. ::sigh:: -everyone- seems to forget this...
I got into an argument at work where this very point was brought up.
"What? Are yo sure? I never heard about that."
"Of course not..." I replied "The -liberal- media must have hidden it"
Then he said the second dumbest* thing I heard that day:
"Well, at least George Bush comes from a working family!"
I knew that these people were so far in fantasy land it wasn't worth the agravation to continue...

::feh::

* The dumbest came that evening from either some columnist or talking head. It seems that the the whole yellow cake scandal was Clinton's fault, since he decimated the intelligence services so that they weren't able to do their job for Bush.... To paraphrase Lewis Black, I desperately wanted to jab a #2 pencil through my ear to my brain.

12. Here reply with this.........
http://www.talion.com/georgebush.html Link to George W. Bush War record.

http://www.talion.com/suspension.html Link to Photo copy of orders>

"Verbal orders of the Comdr on 1 Aug. 72 suspending 1st Lt. George W. Bush ... from flying status are confirmed... Reason for suspension: failure to accomplish medical examination."

Year of refusing to take medical: 1972 Year drug testing implemented in military medical exams: 1972

When pinned down, George W. Bush said he has not taken drugs "since 1974."

Era: Viet Nam war, young men drafted and required to go to Viet Nam. George Bush: after suspension, was able to "choose" to undertake civilian duty. Later, was assigned to disciplinary duties in Denver.

http://www.talion.com/punish.html Link to photo copy of orders>
Transfer to "Obligated Reserve Service" ("ORS") duty in Denver. This is military jargon for failing to complete obligations in a satisfactory manner.

See document (signed by George W. Bush) that indicates if he fails to complete assignments satisfactorily, he will be assigned to ORS duty.

13. The Straight Dope on Dumbya's Texas Air National Guard Adventure
Edited on Wed Jul-23-03 08:23 PM by Chicagonian
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/030411.html

...Cecil replies:

Yeah, the mainstream media have really kept a lid on this one. We wouldn't know anything about Bush going AWOL if it hadn't been for that obscure underground newspaper the Boston Globe, which broke the story nationally in May 2000. But you're right that coverage has been pretty thin. A few months after the 2000 election, former Bill Clinton adviser Paul Begala said he'd done a Nexis search and found 13,641 stories about Clinton's alleged draft dodging versus 49 about George W. Bush's military record. Why the disparity? We'll get to that. First the basics: Yes, it's true, Bush didn't report to his guard unit for an extended period--17 months, by one account. It wasn't considered that serious an offense at the time, and if circumstances were different now I'd be inclined to write it off as youthful irresponsibility. However, given the none-too-subtle suggestion by the Bush administration that opponents of our Iraqi excursion lack martial valor, I have to say: You guys should talk.

Here's the story as generally agreed upon: In January 1968, with the Vietnam war in full swing, Bush was due to graduate from Yale. Knowing he'd soon be eligible for the draft, he took an air force officers' test hoping to secure a billet with the Texas Air National Guard, which would allow him to do his military service at home. Bush didn't do particularly well on the test--on the pilot aptitude section, he scored in the 25th percentile, the lowest possible passing grade. But Bush's father, George H.W., was then a U.S. congressman from Houston, and strings were pulled. The younger Bush vaulted to the head of a long waiting list--a year and a half long, by some estimates--and in May of '68 he was inducted into the guard...

15. Doesn't comport with the facts in First in His Class by David Mariness
reviewed as the best biography ever written on a sitting President. The draft issue was covered, and Clinton did pull some evasive maneuvers.

The Carter pardon issue is something I would think we could track down.

This has probably been "expanded" to offset the Bush* record they know will be pounded during election season.

As mentioned in the Snopes link, and also verified by my memory. The offensive email makes it sound like Carter specifically pardoned Clinton, and is clearly meant to be misleading in that regard.

I wonder if there is a smokey basement room somewhere, full of computers with a bunch of jackasses working overtime, day and night, producing these garbage emails.

I've stopped getting them, luckily. My friends got the picture (or my spamguard is working wonders). But I used to get them all the time. Sometimes full of vitriol, sometimes ridiculous.. other times, seemingly heartwarming with some hallmark message - and some B.S. moral to it.

The worst was some nostalgic piece about living back "in the old days.." Thinkgs like, "Remember when a Coke was a nickel, and you could go to a movie for a quarter? Remember when people went outside, instead of sitting in front of a TV? Remember when a man loved a woman and they got married. There were no single mothers..or gay rights, or political correctness.. bla bla bla bla"

thinly veiled hate crap.
