2. And the beat goes on......
The story is really getting out there. Now if we could just get the general public to turn off reality TV and get interested in their country,we could accomplish great things. But (sigh) I haven't much hope for the sheeple.

15. Where is the money?
http://www.whereisthemoney.org

From Department of Defense (DoD)...
"We reported that DoD processed $1.1 trillion in unsupported accounting entries to DoD Component financial data used to prepare departmental reports and DoD financial statements for FY 2000."
David K. Steensma
Acting Assistant Inspector General
for Auditing for the DoD
February 26, 2002

From Housing & Urban Development (HUD)...
"At the time we discontinued our audit work... An additional 242 adjustments totaling about $59.6 billion, were made to adjust fiscal year 1999 activity."
Susan Gaffney
HUD Inspector General
March 22, 2000

Trillions of dollars in "unsupported adjustments" means trillions of dollars unaccounted for. What's going on? Where is the money? How could this happen? Where are the checks and balances? How much more has gone missing? Is this happening in the other government agencies too? What would happen if a corporation failed to pass an audit like this? Or a taxpayer? Who is responsible for this? Who can we trust to fix it? ...

22. Very important point...
The funds and resources diverted and "lost" from the Pentagon and other U.S. government agencies are enough not just for a secret government but a secret empire. Think of the possibilities:

- Proprietorship and/or propping up the value of companies like Diebold, Dyncorps, Wackenhut, defense contractors, HAL, etc.

- Black budget for secret bases, secret tech development programs, real estate all around the world...

- "I think I'll take these surplus spy computers, planes, arms and trucks and start my own private CIA..."

- "Plunge protection" for stock market...

- Taking ownership stake in key companies or industries, for example the media...

- Bribing Everyone Internationally: politicians, journalists, heads of state...

- Attempted multiplication of said funds through money laundering schemes or arbitage...

- Sheer plunder! Gimme some!

- "Let's arm Country X / Rebel Group Y to the molars with surplus old ordnance and watch'em go at it, later they'll need to purchase our newest line."

- "Let's have a Halliburton audit and let the DoD Inspector General announce the Pentagon's missing 2.3 trillion dollars in assets in the days just before 9/11. Rumsfeld can admit the figures and vow to track down waste at a press conference on Sept. 10. No one will ever remember that story again."

My guess: the 2.3 trillion figure is an intentional overestimate to sow confusion about how much is really gone. Given how the Pentagon is prone to valuate a hammer at $7000 a pop, I figure a large chunk of what is gone is ridiculously overvalued ordnance, which is scary enough.

The black budget is the mother of all elephants.

16. I think the money to 'support' right wing strategies
comes from the pension holders and employees and little stockholders and all of us who were robbed by companies like Enron and similar companies. Some of it is called back from the off-shore companies whenever and wherever it is needed for a cause. In other words, I feel that thefts by Enron and others is/were fund and vault raising efforts for right wing causes against us. They could pump a bunch in one of their failing companies.

17. They can pump money in, but remember, Diebold is diversified
Its election division is not a large part of its revenues. However, the heavy sell-offs by insiders -- Roorda, who dumped $32 million since mid-August, for example, is not a good sign for the long run. I don't see Diebold as an Enron though. They do have products, not just air.

18. Bev, I don't mean Diebold is an Enron...
I mean that Enron money can be used anywhere for any effort - and it could help a company with a previoulsly clean financial record weather hard or threatening times or could be used for dirty trick campaigns. I keep thinking that Enron was kind of a laundering outfit and I don't think all the money went to the brass - I think it's in a vault. There could be a lot of theories against my theory, I know. Mine is only intuitive based on 'funny' things I saw on the 'net right after the 'fall' when someone posted a link that kind of took me on an exploration trip. Later I couldn't find the sites.
