Bad news for His Royal Flatulence in Kansas City...
A local "news" station, KMBC-9, in Kansas City, Missouri ran a poll on its site a couple of days ago. It asked "Who will get your vote in the 2004 presidential election?" Here are the results:

President George W. Bush 5623 41%
The Democratic candidate 3950 28%
A third party candidate 142 1%
I'll vote against Bush, but I'm not sure where my vote will go. 4157 30%

Here is the poll. Click on this link, then click on "Politics" (at top), then click on "Poll Finds Rising Tide Of Voters Against Bush" link (left column):

Clearly, 72% will not vote for His Royal Flatulence. I believe this parallels somewhat the national polls.

Kansas City is not known as a bastion of liberal politics. Consider its latest poll (click on "Politics":
"Are you happy with the fact that the GOP won control of Congress as a whole?"
Yes 19417 59%
No 11637 36%
It doesn't matter to me who is in control. 1596 5%

This is bad news for the Bushistas!

1. KC is Democratic
As is St. Louis. Unfortunately much of the rest of the state is rural and therefore repug-inclined (except Boone County--the city of Columbia is our Berkeley). But this is a good sign. It was close for Bush in 2000 in Missouri, I pray we'll go Dem next year.

4. huh?
Clearly, 72% will not vote for His Royal Flatulence. I believe this parallels somewhat the national polls.

check your math. the article says 38% are "definitely" planning to vote for Bush. of the remaining 62% (not 72%), some may vote for him, and some not.

5. oops...sorry! Bush gets 41%, "Other" gets 59%
I added the wrong figures. It should read "41% will vote for Bush. 59% for a Democrat, 3rd party candidate, or 'not voting for Bush'."

My mistake; I got carried away! :dunce:
