"One a day isn't so bad"
On the Brian Williams newscast on CNBC just now, Williams is interviewing the parents of 2 US soldiers in Iraq (2, plus a son in law, so 3 total). The parents are giving pretty much the company line--"soldiers shouldn't bitch about the conditions, etc." Williams asked the mother about the fact that we're losing on average one US soldier a day since the Chimp's declaration of victory.

The mother replied, I swear I'm not making this up: "I don't think one a day is so bad ..."

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!

I guess she'd change her tune if the one for tomorrow happened to be HERS!!! What a frickin' IDIOT!!! I honestly couldn't believe I heard that coming out of her mouth.

with 150,000 soldiers serving a year, the probability for her son is about 1 in 400.

4. Just a guess
But I'm guessing she had been told to spout the patriotic RW line by the network. "If you want to be on TV, here's what you say ..."

6. What a stupid, sick thing to say
Y'know, some of us have family in Iraq. We have heard the storys, we know what these kids are going thru. For this so-called mother to say these things only shows me that MSGOP got a total fruitcake to give an opinion. Believe me, the word "Bush" is poison right now to these soldiers, and I get sick at her proposal that "One a day isn't so bad". She must not be close to her child, because I barely get sleep knowing my sister's husband is being hit by mortars day in and out.

7. She was probably carefully chosen
They're not going to put an angry screamer on TV calling for Bush's head. They'll put out someone who wants to calm criticism of the war.
