Reapportionment: Not so bad for Dems?
So our base states such as NY lose clout in the Electoral College, but the domestic migration from the NE is so spread out that liberals from the Northeast/Upper Midwest are moving to anywhere from Colorado to Florida, in other words, states that are gaining seats. So aren't we actually in good shape since the spreading out of our base is making more states competitive for us? We can win traditional states plus growing swing states rather than only being able to rely on the traditional Dem states? Any thoughts?

2. Yikes! No no no
People are just interested in moving to warmer climates and to newer cities than the rustbelt areas and older areas of the urban Northeastern Corridor. :)

3. Republican states lose too
Not only northern states lost electoral votes. Oklahoma and Mississippi both lost electorall votes in 2000 so the Republicans are hurt too. And states like California picked up a seat. I do agree that some of these additional electoral votes and congressional districts are in states that are turning into moderate states because northerners are moving in. Just look at a state like Florida which is now a swing state and was quite recently very conservative.
