RNC Gillespie is still bitching about Reagan movie

"The CBS decision to air 'The Reagans' miniseries on Showtime does not address the central concern over historical accuracy, nor does it correct the fact that the program does not present, in their own words, 'a balanced portrayal of the Reagans.'

The only proper thing to do is to correct the imbalance and have the program reviewed for historical accuracy or inform viewers that it is a fictionalized portrayal and not intended to be historically accurate.

Misleading a smaller audience of viewers is not a noble response to the legitimate concerns raised about this program. I respectfully request Showtime to allow a panel of historians and people who know the Reagans to review the program for accuracy before it airs.

If they are unwilling to correct the imbalance they themselves acknowledge and review the program for historical accuracy, Showtime should inform its viewers through a crawl every ten minutes that the program is a fictional portrayal of the Reagans and the Reagan Presidency, and is not intended to be historically accurate."

1. I have a similar idea....
'a balanced portrayal of the "Saving Jessica Lynch.'

I respectfully request NBC to allow a panel of historians and people who know the Jessica Lynch rescue to review the program for accuracy before it airs.

If they are unwilling to correct the imbalance they themselves acknowledge and review the program for historical accuracy, NBC should inform its viewers through a crawl every ten minutes that the program is a fictional portrayal of Jessica Lynch, and is not intended to be historically accurate."

2. Just Like They Did For "9-11"
Sure thing, Ed.

Put a scrolling message on the movie? Just like Showtime did for that steaming pile of feces called "9-11?"

Oh yeah, now I remember...THEY DIDN'T DO IT.

Talk about the clueless (Reagan) leading the blind (the Republicans).

3. Mr. Gillespie
Should go to my local library. Several books there tell about Raygun's less than steller past. Might be he could have them removed from public access.

Reagan too will pass,in few years he will be a distant memory, dust in the ground as are all people. There will be no songs, no poems written of him.

4. Acquiescing to bullies only makes them bolder
And that's all these Busheviks are -- bullies. Beerhall thugs who are second cousins to the Nazis (but not nearly as violent...YET).

The more people cower before them, the more they will whine and scream and bully.

Where will it stop?

Ask the Germans. They know.

(though Bushevik Imperial Rule is likely to be quite different because we are a different nation who requires different lies to be told in order to voluntarily give up our Liberty)

5. The Republicans Will Harp On This Until The Talking...
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 04:52 PM by jayfish
points are pried from their cold _____ hands. Get used to it. CBS gave them all the ammo they need. Look for their new talking point:

"See, CBS knew that the Raygun movie was a travesty or they would have aired it on CBS. Instead they had to sneak it through the backdoor to Showtime. Why are they embarrassed?"

You heard it here first.

7. Or...
how about a barf bag everytime bush speaks? This whole thing has me P.O.ed. CBS used to be a good network but they sold their souls and should be avoided at all costs.

15. Somebody needs to tell Gillepsie to blow himself
We should request that all Bush tv ads be subject to review by the Democratic National Committee and a panel of their appointed historians before they air.
