Check this out.....

I think the main reason a lot of punks and other people are down with supporting Howard Dean (like myself!) are not because they necessarily agree with all of his views. It boils down to two things. 1. They hate Bush so much that they will support anybody to get his ass out of the White House. and 2. At least Dean has the balls to stand up to Bush. The other Democrats have been wimpy (except for Sharpton and Kucinich but....I am sorry they are simply not electable for president.). This is why even punks, goths, and others are supporting Dean. He is the only one who has a realistic chance of winning in 2004. Sites like this prove it.

And I'm for Dean. (I also was a new-waver/punk)

I wish I had the skill to come up with a poster for Dean/Cthulhu for President.

3. I am sure they are out there.
I am sure that Dennis Kucinich does get a pretty broad range of people. I have also noticed that there are now Mormons for Dean, Arab-Americans for Dean, Republicans for Dean (!), and so there is something for everybody. Even for Kucinich supporters.

4. Ummmm...
most of the punks I know are progressives. Who else are they going to support....CLARK???? The consensus among my punk friends is that he's a fascist masquerading as a Democrat because there's an incumbent Republican in office. They seem to think if there was a Democrat in office, Clark'd be running as a Republican.

My punk friends like DK, but don't think he has a chance in hell. Dean's the logical choice for Punks.

10. You'd better take a closer look at Dean the "Rockefeller Republican"
If anybody is Bushlite it's Dean. It's unbelievable how easy the masses are fooled. But then again Bush repeats a lie often enough the public believes it. Dean has just borrowed a page out of Bush's playbook.

13. "Bush-Lite" wouldn't have stuck if people didn't already believe it
Dean was simply putting in words what so many, many people already felt. Dean gave those feelings people were having a voice. Things like that ONLY stick if there are strong enough sentiments that agree with the comment. Enough people agreed, hence the comment stuck. If those who voted with Bush didn't want to be criticized for those votes they should have been talking to voters to see how they felt before bending over for Bush.

8. well here we go...
more evidence that in the real world (as opposed to the world of wishful thinking), it's Dean who has the best shot at grabbing the disaffected, the non-voters, the undecideds...

and this not only because of the stance on given political issues (I'm sure the gun control position helps, as does the general libertarian feel to the whole campaign), but also because he has most clearly and fearlessly from the beginning articulated that he is AGAINST Bush and willing to speak from his own convictions.
