I just visited the JFK Library .
This was a pilgrimage I had wanted to do for as long as it has existed. I finally got my chance this July 4.
For one small precious moment, I was back in Camelot.

It brought back all the memories of idealism and hope I remember feeling in those days. ...And all the dreams of a better future.
We sat and listened to the news conferences and speaches; and put them in perspective of today's events.
There were naturally comparasions to the style of the current administration as in: The formal state dinners for the heads of state. The press conferences. The worldliness. The years of preparation were obvious.
People said JFK was too young, he didn't say he had older and wiser advisors, he proved to them, and to the world, that he was up to the task.
What a better world this would have been if only...

Ok, why is it that JFK, MLK, and RFK were all assassinated.

Never understood it when I was a kid. Now is makes a kind of grotesque sense.

2. I've been there.....
it was bittersweet. And also, the house where he was born. And to his grave at Arlington. That was just one of those things I had to do.
