OK people, I have a real problem with the magazine "The New Republic". They claim to be a "liberal" magazine, however, they are probably marionettes for the DLC. Seriously.
They had this guy, Daniel Drezner
His Web-blog, recently write a story about what is going on in South America. He discussed the Bolivia incident as if it was not born out of the frustrations of the indigenous people there. Hmm...I think he needs to take a culture class. He states that the supreme reason that Bolivians revolted is because Bolivia made a deal with Chile. It could have been a factor, but I think that the oppression of the indigenous population has been something that was festering for years.
Anyhow, this guy Daniel Drezner is a Libertarian Republican and has received praise by Andrew Sullivan (a gay conservative? go figure
n little article about him ) and the New Republic.
Anyhow, I was just at Eric Alterman's blog and he had a little snippet reserved for the folks at TNR.
And second, so Mickey disagrees with Bob Kuttner on welfare policy. Get over it, son. The losses at the Prospect do not come close to matching those of The New Republic, which has lost nearly a third of its circulation in the past few years but continues to wreak havoc on the Democratic party by virtue of its silly reputation as a "liberal" publication, (that just happens to be owned by three neoconservatives). I have my own problems with Kuttner, and I think the magazine would be welcome Josh Marshall back into its proverbial bosom, but Mickey on the Prospect is teetering on Andy-on-Krugman territory. (Didn't Moyers and Ken Lay both live in Texas once?) Altercation Web-blogAnyhow, do you think Libertarians will give the Democrats the election in 2004? I saw the Libertarian candidate and he looks "pretty" persuasive.
