Bush drops to 51 percent in Quinnipiac poll - lowest ever
and five Dem candidates are within 6 points of him. I think it's important that we have multiple candidates closing in on Bush. Yesss!

2. Just watch the general trends.
bush's numbers will go up and down on individual polls, but so long as the trend is DOWN, we are in good shape for 2004.

Craig Crawford, a repook, said last night on CBS overnight news, that bush's trends are indeed down, and at the same point in their presidencies, Ronnie and Big Dog were trending UP.... :D

6. Saw that too
That guy was brutal on bush. Said something like "don't these people take responsiblity for anything?" Something like that.

Also slammed the moron on Iraq, talking about how awol had an opportunity to win back some support by simply saying "we have a plan, we have an exit strategy." A wasted oppotunity, this guy said. Gave bush* failing marks all around.

Also talked about how the Dems now have "national security" (or "foreign policy") as an issue and who would have thought that would be the case.

Yeah, I'd like to see that kinda talk in prime time. I think that's coming.

5. Interesting Paragraph
"From October 23 - 27, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,262 registered voters nationwide, with a margin of error of +/- 2.8 percent. The survey includes 403 Democrats with a margin of error of +/- 4.9 percent."

Why do they point out the amount of Dems and their MOE only? Also, I think that's a small sample of Dems and I'm not entirely sure of the implications of a such a differential in the MOE for Dems and the MOE in general. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

In any event, it will be interesting to see more polls taken in the wake of the recent events. I seem to have a perception that many pollster don't immediately poll after bad news. I'll be looking closely to see who's due for a poll and does it, and who's due and holds off for a bit longer than normal...
