Bob Graham may not run for the Senate
in 2004! Oh man! This on top of Zell Miller? Who would run in his place. I just saw him on CNN...saying he would announce soon...whether he will run or not.

1. Graham needs some encouragement....write to him

Marie Cocco is brilliant the way she takes Rumsfeld's memo and answers it with the speech Bob Graham gave to the Senate before voting to go to war.

I am sending Bob this article and begging him to run again.....we need him.

4. There are a couple of good prospects
Peter Deustch and Betty Castor will seek the nomination to replace Graham.

Repubs had trouble recruiting for this seat, so none of their candidates are particularly strong, and haven't been able to raise much money.

Without Graham, the seat is not exactly "safe," but still should be considered as leaning Democratic.

5. I've never heard
that he wasn't running. What a shame. Here's a link if anyone wishes to email him.

8. Do you think he's a VP candidate?
or wouldn't that matter?

9. We've got two good candidates to replace him.

Betty Castor

and

U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch

I like Betty. She's the former president of USF. She's been in the State Senate and Lawton Chiles' cabinet. She's served on national education boards. I'm waiting on Graham's announcement and will then start volunteering and donating to her campaign.

I'd like to see Graham either as VP or hold a cabinet position in the upcoming Democratic administration. He'd be a great secretary of HUD or Health and Human services.

The main Republican challenger so far is Johnny Bryd. This guy is a grade A radical right neocon troll. Either Castor or Deutsch would trounce him.

on Edit, Dadgum, I'm too slow. Y'all beat me to the punch.

10. VP would be great.
I just hope we don't lose that seat. We can't afford it. :(

11. Didn't he have bypass surgery recently?
From what I saw of him in campaign mode he seemed to be physically ailing; unsteady. He seems like a decent guy. I wish him well.
