Anti- UN Billboard in my neighborhood!
Today as I was driving home, I was startled and then shocked to see a large billboard on a semi-residential street stating "GET THE US
OUT OF THE UN" and other phrases such as the UN is UN-American, etc.

There was a phone number to call for supporting this issue as well as a website www.getusout.com (or it might be org, I can't remember in that fleeting moment).

I live in a small city in Wisconsin. Does anyone know who is behind this piece of shit movement and has anyone else seen these billboards lately. I think this just went up.

3. I haven't seen those since
I was a kid in the 1960's. I thought the JBS had just vanished - guess not.

Wonder what brought them out of hiding.

I saw a "US out of UN" bumper sticker just like the old ones I recall from 35 yrs ago.

6. I Was Thinking The Same Thing
It's some right wingnut fundie church...there are plenty of 'em in this part of the world. It's ok, they're harmless, except for Matthew Hale.

The ones I see along the rural roads are the Gun-Nut and Anti-Abortion zealots who have adopted the old Burma Shave sayings on small road signs.

It'd be fun to get a picture of the sign. Amusement is always appreciated.

4. That makes sense - they were founded here
But I don't know if they still have their headquarters here anymore.
I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

5. My bet as well......................
we have one about five miles down the road. It's on a main thoroughfare though, but hey, it's central Florida. The John Birch society is a way of life around here.

2. Big Surprise...
Their idiot web site has a big banner ad for the John Birch Society. Assholes back when they first appeared in the early 60s, bigger assholes now.

7. That theme seems to run through the 'letters to the editor' in my town
every once in a while. Really weird. I thought it kinda sounded like Birch stuff.

Here in Alabama the richest land developer in my city puts them up. He drives a Hummer and milks the local government of our precious resources.

Sick crap. What is wrong with this country?

12. Someone went around painting the international no symbol
on them here. (Circle with line through it.) But he just repainted them. I'd like to paint a big swastika on them if I had the guts.

14. I've seem bumper stickers with the same sentiment
these people are so damn stupid. IF we did get out of the UN, we would be screwed. There is no way we can 'go it alone'. No Way. And yet these morons would have us pull out of the international community. They might feel differently if they realized that we would be cut off economically.

What a bunch of idiots.

15. "facts"
"financed by American taxpayers!"

That's a good one - the US pays it's share (about 20% AFAIR), but Japan pays almost as much.
