Guess where Bush is going today
On an extended weekend to................Crawford Texas
According to Yahoo news GW Bush is leaving the
WhiteHouse today for an extended weekend at his infamous
ranch in Crawford Texas.

My one question is........................

DOES GW BUSH EVERY DO ANY WORK LIKE A PRESIDENT AND A LEADER
NORMALLY DOES

Almost every single day he is off to campaign for himself
or Off to Crawford Texas.

Didnt he just have a 30day vacation there in August
How many vacation days does he get?
This is insane

Even when he is there, he treats it like a 9 to 5 job. I may be mistaken, but if you take that gig you pretty much gotta expect to be on call all the time. No 9 to 5 there. No nap time.

35. Bush has spent 27% of his presidency on vacation
I googled it.
Wow. That's like me taking 1 1/2 days off work each week. (Which, with all my procrastination, might be close to true...)
Laziest (P)resident ever!!

Dubya - taken 250 days off so far
Papa Bush - 543
Reagan - 335
Clinton - 152 (during both terms)

36. As of the first of August, 2003-
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 03:03 PM by soup
"According to an August 2003 article in the Washington Post, President Bush has spent all or part of 166 days during his presidency at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route. Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation. Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."
http://ask.yahoo.com/ask/20031001.html

Also from the yahoo article:

"What about Clinton? As of December 1999, President Bill Clinton had spent only 152 days on holiday during his two terms, according to CBS News. A former staffer noted Clinton was such a workaholic that "it almost killed Clinton to take one-week vacations during August." In 2000, Clinton cut his summer vacation short to just three days, so he and his wife could concentrate on her Senate race and fundraising for Democrats. While we couldn't find the exact tally for Clinton's last year in office, it's reasonable to expect he didn't increase his vacation rate. And in barely three years in office, George W. Bush has already taken more vacation than Clinton did in seven years."

on edit: OOPS. You're much quicker than I am, omshanti. :hi:

I'm sure that he does. What does he actually do when he is in the White House? I know he doesn't work so what does he actually do---watch old movies? play video games? listen to audio books? (I know he doesn't read.)

This is a serious question. I just can't imagine how he occupies his time. Anybody have ideas???

I was curious where he was coming from/going to. Only Bush travels in groups of THREE helicopters. Talk about a friggin' waste of $. Anyway, I was at the Jefferson Memorial and the 3 flew over with one landing at the White House. I figured he was just now getting back from Camp David, but according to a friend at the Treasury Dept., he got back from there on Sunday night.

This guy gets more vacation than Bob Dole.

52. Now I know why the press conference.
He through them a bone and now its off to the pig farm. 27% of his term as of August has been spent in Texas or Camp David. That does not count for any campaign time. I would guess that would mean at least half of his time in office has been on vacation or campaigning.
