Terrorism? In Seattle?
Read this especially if you live in Seattle and please give me any info you have.

I live in a section of Seattle called Queen Anne. On Sunday evening at around 10:30pm a limosine exploded taking out the bottom floor of an apartment building. I live 1 block away. The smoldering remanents of the car remained there the next morning with a group of police and other men wandering around it, searching, talking, and keeping everyone a block away from it.

A couple of my neighbors were walking their dog and they witnessed it. They swear that it was a car bomb. They gave the police their names, but haven't been contacted yet as of this afternoon.

The odd thing is that there is no media coverage of this event what-so-ever. I don't think anyone died and that may be the reason. I called the Seattle times newsroom and they knew nothing about it even though there must have been four big fire trucks and twenty police cars there within ten minutes. The police and the fire department say that they won't comment on it at this time.

It was on the corner of Prospect and Taylor if you live in the area. Does anyone know anything about this?

Any info you have would be much appreciated, because my personal investigation is going nowhere.

5. Sigh
Please stop attributing everything to 'terrorism'

That is Bush fear-mongering, and you have bought it.

Before you know it, you'll be afraid of your own shadows.

6. Does your city paper publish a police/fire log?
If so, is the incident mentioned there?

7. KING TV sends a chopper to EVERY shed
and car that catches on fire. I live a little north and it is really weird that it rec'd no coverage.

Don't you think the local press goes nuts on fire coverage? Four fire trucks should have had them salivating.

18. yeah. Seriously.
If someone farts sideways in Seattle, they got 4 choppers and 18 reporters on the scene within 2.5 minutes.

An abandoned warehouse caught on fire a few months ago, and they had the AUDACITY to interrupt Judge Judy to report it.

I really really find it hard to believe that an entire FLOOR OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING could be taken out by a BOMB!!! and mum's the word.

Seattle has the biggest media whores I done seen since I lived in South Florida...and that's a very, very telling statement if you've lived in South Florida.

I think I'm going to go drive past the suspected area and let you know if'n there are any apartment complexes with entire bottom floors taken out by exploded limosines :eyes:

23. We get hysterical in the winter at my house!
My husband's from MN and whenever the flurries are A-RAGING, that reporter acts like it time to eat the kids and burn the furniture! He bends down and scrapes the top of the grass to show how deep "the snow" is getting. ROFL

8. Did you call SPD?
You should be able to get an incident report from them.

I doubt this has anything to do with terrorism - Prospect and Taylor is pretty residential, what would the target be? My partner's cousin lives a block down on 6th. If you want me to contact her to see if she knows anything about it, send me a PM.

15. well, if the limo was in the garage......
then it could have just been loaded to take to a special event -- a very special event to detonate it. Bombs go off accidentally, and maybe that's what happened.

Was there an event the next day somewhere in Seattle that would draw any sort of crowd?

And the question I would ask is if the limo was owned by the homeowners for whose garage it was in. Or was it a stolen vehicle from like Vegas or Chicago? Like the car wouldn't have been traceable to those seattle residents.

And if everything is a big hush hush - i just wonder if someone wasn't killed?

Almost 50 years on this earth, and I have never heard of a car blowing up. Catching fire, but not blowing up.

11. I just called the SPD
and they have no record of this happening at all......

I live on the west side of Queen Anne, right across from Interbay Golf, and right down the street from Ballard FD, and we hear the Police and Fire anytime they go down 15th...and I don't recall any large amount of fire trucks, ambulances, or police cars going by 15th that night (we always look, esp. since the Port caught on fire last year, just in case we can see what's going on).

??

12. I also just talked to a friend of mine on Q.A
who lives on Taylor and she says she knows nothing about what you're talking about.

Are you sure it was an explosion and not an accident? (Not doubting your story at all, just strange that someone who lives >4 blocks from this saw/heard nothing, and SPD has no record of it)

13. Even if there was a car bomb, it may not be terrorism.
I remember back in the '80's some loon set off a car bomb under a swanky French restaurant in lower Queen Anne. It was all about some marital infidelities in the end. I think it put the restaurant out of business. I'm having a hard time remembering the name of the restaurant, but I was living over near Kinnear Park at the time.

16. friend in Columbus, Ohio area
had a carbomb go off in their neighborhood. The house where the bomb went off (in the driveway) was known as a sight for solicitation (and perhaps other substances). Not terrorism. More street level vendetti type criminal act. Sort of unnerved my friend, though (they moved recently - beautiful old home in a 'border' neighborhood that isn't quite as 'border' as they had assumed.

17. Are you a troll?
> a limosine exploded taking out the bottom floor
> of an apartment building

Yeah, right. I drive by there every day and there are no apartment
buildings with the bottom floor "taken out." The news would have been all over this, given that they went ape shit when some welders accidentally lit some material on the old municipal building a couple weeks ago. That sent plumes of smoke into the air, and every damn helicopter in the state was hovering around there until they figured out what it was (about 15 minutes).

If you're not a troll, I think you should lay off "the stuff" for a while!

20. We reported it on KOMO 1000
I was board op'ing and we could see all the flashing lights from the studio.

All we had at the time from the fire and cop folks was that there was some type of apartment complex explosion.

My shift ended before we got any more information, but now that you mention it, there sure wasn't a lot of follow up.

Let me poke around the news room and see what I can find out.

22. Okay here's the thing
I called SPD earlier this afternoon when I read this thread. The person on the other end of the line laughed at me when I asked about a poss. car bomb/explosion on QA hill on Sunday. Yeah right.

Just had hubby call SPD---got different dispatcher. Same thing. No reports of explosion on QA on Sunday Night, or any other night in recent weeks.

Just called KOMO, KING, and KIRO asking about any fire or explosion on QA Sunday night. No dice. All basically said "if there was anything of that nature, we would have covered it"

Just called friend who works for local weekly newspaper who listens to police scanners for reporting stuff. Says nothing came across the scanner Sunday night, or any other night re: fire, explosion, bad thing, etc, on Queen Anne Hill.

Husband rides #15/18 bus up Queen Anne from where we live every day. That bus passes Prospect (tho not at Taylor). Said nothing out of ordinary monday up Taylor. Nothing visible, anyways.

Just called Ballard Fire Department. No trucks went to Q.A. hill on Sunday night for an explosion/fire/carbomb/terrorism

Re-Called my friend who lives on Taylor about 4 blks from Prospect. She was home on Sunday night. No explosion. No fire. No fire-trucks. No burnt out anything on the road the next day.

If it weren't so dark outside, I'd get off my fat little ass and drive over there, but seeing that the more I read this story, the stinkier it sounds, I'm not going to do that. I think I've done enough "investigating" of this story to realize it's either pure bunk, or exaggerated bunk.

Post pictures or something of this decimated building and perhaps I'll start feeling less sketchy, but unless EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE CITY OF SEATTLE IS INVOLVED IN THIS MASSIVE CONSPIRACY, I just don't know what to think about this, other than I think you got some goofy information.....
