DC Protestors reveal 9/11 truth at the Washington Monument (pic)
note the BIG barricades the shrub has erected around the entire Washington Monument...there was a National Park sign on it that said "Experience your America", followed by directions to go around to the one entrance (which was heavily locked) and a list of prohibited items, including BABY STROLLERS.....

1. Before I built a wall,
I'd ask to know what I was walling in or walling out.

2. I saw that on Saturday, and I couldn't believe it.
I realized D.C. would have changed some in the fifteen years since I'd last been in a march there, but I sure as hell didn't expect that barrier all around the Washington Monument! That was very upsetting to me, I'd expect that in a third world or totalitarian country, and not my own country. What we've come to! SIGH

3. even as Governor
Bush maintained the most closed, roped off, secretive, no-public-admittance, authorized personnel only administration ever. It is no surprise that he is rapidly distancing the public from our own landmarks. I think he really believes they belong to him now.

5. bush* is afraid, very afraid.....the people that he should fear most
are his own freepers...his main constituents, freepers led by religious fanatics like pat "nuke the U.S. State Department" robertson, and jerry "kill all the muslims" falwell...freepers who follow the words of heroin-addict rush limbaugh, who chose to feed his drug habit by acquiring Schedule II narcotics on the black market...bush* freepers: who insult OUR Veterans during a peaceful exercise of the rights that they fought for...

by inciting racial hatred, bigotry, religious insanity, and wars, bush* has created his own uncontrollable world that may blowback anytime...

did you notice the snipers that bush* keeps permanently on the White House roof?...there's a small house now built on the roof for these black-clothed snipers...they are always there pointing guns at the tourists...not that we got to go anywhere near the WH on Saturday, but even tourists are kept at great distances from the WH now, can't even walk around the sidewalks on either side, big 'third-world' concrete highway barricades all over, it does have that sort of 'downtown Baghdad' decor....

OUR country is in great danger now....

7. Isn't it being repaired?
I waa in DC in 1999, and it was closed due to structural problems.

8. no, it was completely renovated (fixed elevator and all) a couple
years ago...this is a NEW barricade...I have lived insided the Beltway now for 3 years starting in 2000...when I first got here, the Monument itself was closed for renovation, no barricades, you could walk right up and touch it, take photos...then it was re-opened for the public tours (can't remember the date, but at least a year ago)

...after 9/11, they put concrete highway barricades all around it, and kept guards stationed there, but you could still walk right up to the Monument, even at night...

now this GIANT barricade wall...it's really too bad, because it was exhilerating to walk toward the Monument, up the hill, inspiring as you approached the BIG symbol of America, with all the American flags fluttering, and rose up the hill with the expanse of the big park all around you....those days are over...
this is bush* Amerikkka....

OUR country is in serious danger...

4. That's how they keep the boobs scared
...pretend that all those monumental heaps of masonry, those SYMBOLS that dull-witted but patriotic types hold most dearly, are the targets of whatever bogeyman the fascist arm of government is promoting at the time. Then, because masonry is relatively easy to secure, erect a BIG UGLY WALL and institute a lot of incredibly annoying restrictions. They'll buy the idea they're protected.

Alas, there are real badmen out there, and it's not heaps of masonry they are after. The domestic badmen are after our jobs, our financial hopes and our civil rights, and for the time being they're winning. The foreign badmen have stated their aim is against our economy, our military, and our intelligence centers, and little has been done to secure us against them.

You see, it's very easy to erect a fence around a pile of marble, and it can be done for a song. Protecting the things that really matter is much more expensive and tiresome, so nobody's bothered.

That is the real point of that fence. It did make a nice canvas for the inscription, though.

9. Hey - that's a banned website (in the I/P forum)
I think this picture should be banned as well. Wouldn't want to cause "dissent".

10. thanks for the pics
so that's a permanent barricade? when I heard about it before, I thought it was just something that had been put up for the march.
