meanwhile in CA- new (R)Gov finds out He's not up to job
Now that Bushco has gotten a R into California, you aren't hearing much nationally about what the gropinator is doing. Arnold has found that, according to many Wall Street bond experts ( like ME) that his "FIRST MOVE" as govinator--"Opin da buuks" has revealed that there's not much difference from the dire situation caused by the Enron rape as portrayed by Gray Davis after all.

Further, his chief centerpeice promise "repeal the Car Tax" may cause Wall Street to cut off any further financing to the State due to the 4 billion shortfall it would create immediately. In other words, its probably on hold for the duration.

..."you can't expect me to walk into his office and all of a sudden come out with the answers." The gropinator was qouted as saying after his meeting with the states chief financial officers, including outgoing gov. Gray Davis.

Hey, Arnold, wasn't your sunshiney pie in the sky campaign based on exactly THAT? :grr:

"Assemblywoman Jenny Oropeza (D-Long Beach), chairwoman of the Assembly Budget Committee, said it was clear from Schwarzenegger's campaign rhetoric that "he did not have a grasp of what the dynamics were."

"I'm not surprised at his alarm," she said, "because there are problems between what he has promised and what is realistic."

based on reality? Especially arnie's!

Thanks for the report, Capn Sunshine!

6. This means that things could still blow up in their face
If the big happy guy finally becomes the joke on the people we expect hi to be ( hence the recall effort, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RecallArnold/

This is going to just play really badly for Bushco. By next Summer the Iraq mess will be toxic, the economy will be showing little improvment ( despite their attempts to huzzah the fact that maybe the bleeding has stopped) and CA will be teetering on the brink caused by partisan ineptitude and deregulation.

November wil not be pretty for Bush, or Arnold.

22. You can't be referring to "open da books" campaign claptrap
when the budget is a document in the public domain for any/all to see. Hell I think it's even posted on the web!

P.S. - I have a female coworker that said she supported "Ahnold because he was going to open da books and figure everything out AFTER he was elected." I pointed out that I was agaijnst Ahnold because he has no plan. She said, "Everyone has a plan, they've had plans before, what good is a plan, at least he's gonna open da books and THEN fix everything" (Not an exact quote - but the gist is solid).

THAT'S why Arnie is goobernator today. Bullshit sloganeering for the masses.

34. I was next to a "Stop the Car Tax!" petition table last Sunday
I worked an activist table at the Thousand Oaks street fair.

The same damn bunch of idiot fellow Californians who elected Der Gropinator stood in line to sign that stupid thing. The guy with the clipboard asked me if I'd sign and I said "No, I'm okay with it, it only costs me pennies a day and I like what it pays for." Most people who signed it didn't even know what it really means.

Bet all those idiots all drive huge SUVs festooned with American flag sitckers they bought on the zero-percent financing deals since 9/11/01.

This activist with the paid-off Honda Accord that gets great gas mileage and has very low emissions is just fine, thank you very much.

After their meeting the microphones caught Arnold inviting him to some swanky restaraunt. It was kind of amusing.

17. Silver lining: Thanks for a media-genic right wing target of criticism.
After a few days of denial and depression over his apparent election, I rebounded to a 'bring it on!' kind of coming to terms with the situation.

We now have a constantly media-covered target for criticism of repub policies. What a gawd-send! Yes, a steaming reeking pile of amurican civic dysfunction right out in the open, not sublimated and hidden from view. Local news orgs that haven't had a correspondant in Sacramento for years are sending one now.

Every one of his public appearances should have people drowning him out with cries of "MOLESTER!" for his repeated assaults against women and his collusion with Ken Lay's economic rape of California with energy billing fraud.

Nothing constructive will get done in California with Republicans in the White House and Congress, nor with Jabba the Arnold in Sacramento, so why don't we just become political trolls and disrupt every chance we get until we turn the government back to the people?

37. Muscleman Put In Charge Of World's Fifth-Largest Economy
SACRAMENTO, CA—Political observers are struggling to understand exactly how, on Oct. 7, Arnold Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-born, movie-star muscleman with no political experience, was elected to govern the state of California, the world's fifth-largest economic region.

"We're a bit baffled as to exactly how this happened," said David Gergen, director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. "Poll results show that the strongman received 1.3 million more votes than the next candidate—that much is clear. We just can't determine precisely why people believed that the bodybuilder was qualified to lead the socially and economically complex state of California."

Why??

The perception of him being a solver/winner. Never mind this perception is the result of Movies/Fantasy/Fiction.

Its the Human Mind. We are addicted to excitemnt, adrenelin rush. etc. Arnie is perceieved of as excitement. The Bushemante guys did not understand that. Did a dull campaign.
