LBJ and McNamara cover up...
I saw this yesterday on the AP but was just wondering if anyone else saw it.

LBJ and McNamara covered up the fact that Israel attacked a US intelligence gathering vessel.

What other country can get away with intentionally attacking a US ship, and not only will our country do nothing, but our leaders will cover it up? I'm not an Israel hater by any means, but that is just insane.

I guess I've known about this incident, however I just thought Israel covered it up, not the US.

"a U.S. flag was flying that day and Israel shot it full of holes. The sailors on the ship, he said, quickly hoisted another American flag, a much bigger one, to show Israel it was a U.S. vessel.

"No trained individual could be that inept," said Lewis of the Israeli forces."

3. I Still Don't Know About the Liberty
The only detailed account of it I've read was in one of Chomsky's books, and he makes a good case that it was intentional. But for all his careful argument and painstaking documentation, Chomsky is extremely partisan and doesn't always get it right. There was definitely a coverup of some sort, and I want to understand what really happenned.

4. Recent Official investigation concluded a mistake - but Israel haters
will never accept anything other than "evil" Israel, even though they can not find a logical reason for an Israeli IDF command throwing out US support for the State of Israel, just to stop whatever intel the ship was sending Eqypt.

Logic is not big in folks that hate blacks and jews - like the adm. Moorer that they brought out in his wheel chair to say he thought Israel was evil.

5. right..
The US government of which members are coming forward and saying that they reached their conclusions before they even started investigating and the Israeli government conclude that it was an accident and that's the end of the story.
