How does all the French bashing look now?
It is hard to believe that just 5 or 6 months ago we witnessed wide spread bashing of France, Germany, and even our closest ally Canada every day, everywhere – remember Freedom Fries? Now is a good time to look back with the “war over” and with certain facts now known.

This is a summary of the case put forward by France for not supporting Shrub’s crusade against Iraq:

1. There is no clear evidence that Saddam represents any threat to the west.
2. The UN inspections are working and should be given time to complete their task.
3. The case for war presented by Shrub and Colin Powell at the UN was extremely weak and suspect.
4. The evidence for the war presented by the US and UK does not meet the standard required for a pre-emptive war.
5. Any war in against Iraq should be sanctioned by a second clear UN mandate

A relevant quote from mid March:

“We reaffirm that nothing justifies in the present circumstances putting a stop to the inspection process and resorting to the use of force," said the declaration, issued by the Foreign Ministry in Paris. ‘The use of force can only be a last resort.’ “

OK, who looks like the ones who should be held in ridicule now?

1. The refusal to send troops to Iraq by France, Germany, etc., are the
paybacks for their stupidity of this Administration. This is their unspoken way of saying "You screwed up so don't expect us to help bail you out."

7. Good for them!
Why should any nation who opposed this war take place in the nation building process now and have their men and women put at risk for Halliburton and Enron???

2. What's worse is that the
arrogance of the people who took the anti-franco position still would feel the same way. That defines today's conservative - new information is irrelavant

5. Looks like Senator Clinton should have baked two cakes
since more than Tucker Carlson are now having to eat their words.

The "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" were right in the first place.

6. Unfortunately it's still running rampant
I was on ebay last night and saw a stupid seller who said they would send it anywhere but France. Needless to say, I did not bid on that person's item.

9. Freedom=France - Layfayette - Statue of Liberty - etc.
I insist on French wine, and praise the staff for using the word Freedom in all references to France!

Join me.

America would still be a British possession without the support of France.

I loudly order "Freedom Fries" with comments that
"Calling all things French "Freedom" is entirely appropriate!

"France was instrumental in our becoming a nation.
They gave US the Statue of Liberty.

And had the good sense to know Dubya was lying,
while our rightwing media lapdogs barked at Bush's command."

Nobody has had the courage to dispute me yet.

Rightwing assholes sometimes get up and leave at my comments,
but I tip better than they do.
So I'm always welcome back.

Only manager who commented so far
heard my demand that his rightwing customers shut up making Clinton bashing comments in my presence;
and I will shut up speaking the truth! (which offends them)

He slunk away.

We must fight back against America's brownshirts!

confront and oppose the 'Republican-New World Order-Nazis' at every opportunty.

I insist on French wine, and praise the staff for using the word Freedom in all references to France!

Join me.
