Chalabi's Gonna Take Over the Oil Ministry
FT via War and Piece

Meanwhile, Iraqi oil officials quoted by Dow Jones said yesterday that the deputy prime minister Ahmed Chalabi would take over the oil ministry, replacing Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, who has taken a month’s leave. Mr Bahr al-Ulum is reported to be disgruntled with the current government and earlier this month threatened to resign over a rise in oil prices.

1. The Ahmed Chalabi who got .36% of the vote?
Shouldn't he be worried about the current or future new government extraditing him back to Jordan to serve out his embezzlement sentence?

4. This guy personifies America's relationship with Iraq. Sleazeball. Felon.
Geez, and he was on the CIA payroll for years...as an "exiled patriot". His cousin/nephew - whatever - was the "Curveball" informant of bad intelligence fame.

Guy really gets my goat.
