Talk radio update - 7/17

Limbaugh - Roger Hedgehog substituting. Clinton! Clinton! Clinton! America's moral decay caused by Clinton. Mother calls up complaining that, during a tour of the White House her 5 year old asked a Secret Service agent "Is that the door they used to sneak in Monica?" This begs the question as to how the 5 year old knew (paging wingnut mom! paging wingnut mom!), but that was of course never mentioned. No mention made either of , if upon seeing Newt's Senate office child would have asked "Is that the door that led to the room where you wrote all your divorce decrees?"

Black conservatives (rented for the ocassion??) decrying state of education. Clinton's fault - "No Child Left Behind" conspicuous by its absense. Roger doing his part with incredibly leading questions, enough to dazzle the mind of a 6 year old - core audience of Freepers using oversize paper (with dotted center lines for small letters) to write monosyllabic response as we speak.

Hannity - Resident didn't lie!! Moral man!! Dems making mountain out of molehill! Only 16 words in a speech of 5450 words! (made mental note here to visualize what Gettysburg Address would have been like had Lincoln inserted "I shot my mother" in it -after all, only 4 words!!)

Sadly - ending update here. After "Hannity Spin 101" had overwhelming desire to wash hands. Anyone who listened to any more please feel free to update.

" I feel so used...."

3. I was stuck in traffic

and it was a test. I wanted to see how long I could stomach them, and it was actually amusing to see how long the run of stupidity would last. (Theirs, not mine). However 2+ hours was long enough for a while, thank you. :)

The redeeming feature of it all, I believe, is that their "message" is getting defined to a point of absurdity that they will not be able to back away from. They will be trapped (if they haven't been already) into pandering to their base, and will become ineffectual to the mainstream that once listened to them.

2. They are definately on the defensive
I think they are seeing that the number of people who support Bush is dwindling and that they are losing control of things.

They don't seem to be able to derail this Niger thing. I look for them soon to admit what happened and say that PNAC is a good thing and Bush is the leader of the good thing.

I don't know what they will say about the dying troops except that they are heros and are dying for our freedoam and PNAC.

5. I listened too...I'm a masochist
I heard Roger today and yesterday--briefly while in traffic.

You're right. "Clinton, Clinton, Clinton."

Caller says troops are inadequate. Rogers says it's Clinton's fault because he did something or other to reduce the numbers of military people. And I wanted to call so bad and ask why the hell the current idiot didn't take that into account when planning all his wars.

Yesterday, anti environment discussion--basically he's advocating the integration of genetically altered foods without question. One caller, a science student, said we don't know enough about the effects. One man voiced concerns as well. He made them look pretty stupid thereby discouraging the really stupid people in the audience from disagreeing.

Bullying is their modus operandi. If that fails, then Clinton is plan B. I just wish we had a snappy comeback or even something to pre-empt their Clinton lines with.
