http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1546124/posts

<snip>

I heard Rush Limbaugh today saying that Harry Reid holds weekly conference calls with the ultra left wing liberal blogs i.e. Democratic Underground known to us a Dummies, Daily Kos, and others. This is just unbelievable. You have the leader of the democrats in the Senate discussing policy matters with the craziest and most delusional ultra left wing liberals in America. He is pandering to and taking his talking points from the socialists, communists, rabid bush haters, super abortionists, ultra pro-gay agenda, military haters, defeatists, blame America first, and anti-Christians crowds.

This is an absolute sign that the have completely lost it. Their hate toward President Bush has become so incredibly frightening after their defeat last year. Their hate toward him has increased by many folds since last year. Their hate toward him has made them lose every single cell of logic and intelligence left in their brains and every single blood of patriotism left in their veins. We are witnessing a phenomenon in politics that we have not experienced before which is how can “Hate” take so much control of a party strategy, planning, and behavior. How can hate blind them so much that they cannot see that they are committing a political mass suicide and even more dangerously is how they are greatly undermining our nation in times of war. The more they lose the more they hate, and the more they hate the more they lose, they are not able to break this cycle of self destruction and political mass suicide.

4. Limbaugh probably is referring to the "Friends & Allies" program.
Here is a brief description of that program from earlier this year:
Another Win for 'Friends & Allies'
When John G. Roberts is approved as chief justice of the United States, as expected, he can thank President Bush 's "Friends & Allies" program, which went to work on him immediately after he was nominated. The project, started by the Republican National Committee in the 2004 re-election campaign, is simple and effective: Give opinion makers, media friends, and even cocktail party hosts insider info on the topic of the day. How? Through E-mailed talking points, called D.C. Talkers, and conference calls. For Roberts, it worked this way: A daily conference call to about 80 pundits, GOP-leaning radio and TV hosts, and newsmakers was made around 9 a.m. On the other end were the main Roberts gunslingers like Steve Schmidt at the White House and Ken Mehlman and Brian Jones at the RNC. D.C. Talkers would then be distributed to an even larger list filled with positive info about Roberts and lines of attack on his critics. "The idea," said one of those involved, "is to feed them information and have them invested in us." It has even created addicts, he added. "Now they come to us before going on TV."
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/whispers/articles/050926/26whisplead.htm

As you can see, Limbaugh has fairly accurately described the program except for the fact that it is a republican program started by the RNC in 2004. This is a relatively minor lie for Limbaugh. And the shittoheads will believe him.

But there is nothing irrational, delusional or illogical about it. Just plain common sense.

10. I'm always amused at how they bristled at "hating Bush".
its like its their uncle and we've committed a familial insult of some kind.

The fact that they put it in that realm, instead of seeing it as a policy disagreement, speaks volumes for their lack of intellect.

19. yes'm , but why does that offend THEM? that's the point.
I was not PERSONALLY offended when they hated clinton as president, I didn't say they were terrorists or traitors or whatnot. I thought they were idiots, but I think that regardless. The point is, I was not PERSONALLY affected by their hatred.

17. Is is possible that maybe our Dem leaders have talked to Skinner?
Or Elad, or EarlG?

If they did, that would be great, though I can understand that Reid or whoever would like to keep it on the down-low, precisely because he wouldn't want to be associated with the kind of rhetoric that goes on here on a daily basis.

All I'm saying is that I wouldn't discount it as untrue out of hand. And if Reid were holding covert conference calls with Dem blogs and message boards, I would heavily applaud it.

Now, if you don't mind, I have an important phone call from Al Gore I have to take on line 2.

18. The constant lament of a personality cult.
Mussolini-bashers. Hitler-bashers. Stalin-bashers.

It neatly sidesteps any question of the atrocities and war crimes and, in a single epithet, ascribes all criticisms to animosities. Imagine such a defense in a court of law: "The prosecution witnesses are all McVeigh-bashers, your honor!"

Quick and simple - merely kill the messengers. These people hardly have the mental capacity to sustain autonomic processes. Knuckle-dragging, drooling mouth-breathers.

Kos Call
For America's number one liberal blogger
politics is like sports: It's all about winning.

By Benjamin Wallace-Wells

"This record, combined with the sheer vigor and clarity of his online manifestos, has brought Moulitsas, a 34-year-old Californian whom nobody had heard of until three years ago, to the attention of the Democratic establishment, first as a resented adversary and now, increasingly, a kind of part-time sage, an affiliate member. Every third week, Moulitsas has a standing phone call with congressional powerbroker Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (D-Ill.), and he talks regularly with Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). In part, this is raw flattery, a way for Democratic politicians to keep a particularly shrill irritant off their own backs while simultaneously reaching out to his audience, the party's young, liberal, professional grassroots. But it's not just an empty gesture. Moulitsas has become so well incorporated into the party machinery that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) uses him to recruit candidates. “They get calls from, like John Edwards, and maybe Tom Vilsack, and then, always, Markos,” one DCCC staffer told me. This legacy has made him the current champion of that wing of the Democratic Party—anti-war, deeply partisan, young, mostly white, and professional—that seemed ascendant in the year before the first Democratic primaries in 2004. Deanism, in Moulitsas's hands, in an unending belief in the triumphal capacities of the right kind of theatrics, the importance not just of saying the right things, but of saying them with an uncompromising zeal, and gut, and feeling."

On the Kos site, he debunked alot of the distortions in the article, including that one about Reid. He does not have regular contact with Reid, does email with one of Reid's staffers. The above article, while somewhat factually incorrect, is mainly a flattering portrayal of the the man who is Kos, and the Kos effect on politics. Go read it1
