Clinton was head of state when the Supremes forced him to testify in a matter before a civil court.

Covering up child molestation is a crime. Of course the pope should be required to testify. He probably can't be forced to do so; but his failure to abide by the law would bar him from entering this country and would be a major embarrassment.

I hope he wasn't involved, but if he was, he should be exposed.

7. That's actually a major international law issue

Generally speaking, no one has any legal authority over foreign leaders, period. There simply is no jurisdiction, according to international law.

And this has been one of the major objections to war crimes tribunals, due to their whole "well, if it's bad enough, someone has to try you, so long as you lose the war" nature.

That's been Milosovic's defense for years - he was conducting internal Yugoslav affairs, we can piss off.

And I believe Saddam is actually being tried by the Iraqis, puppet nature of the Iraqis aside. That's probably because we don't have much legal ground to stand on versus him as our invasion was also illegal under international law.
