the State of the Union Address is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, 2006 instead of Friday, January 20, 2006 as earlier posted. That organization is planning a Washington, D.C. rally on Saturday, February 4, and hopes people will also protest locally and in State Capitols on January 31, 2006.

Should we join their group Feb 4, or organize our own for Jan 31?

and posting stuff on other sites about a march on Washington.

Shall we organize it ourselves, or with the help of MoveOn.org? Or should we allow another organization to co-opt the idea and do it themselves?

I think you have the right idea. A protest at the State of the Union makes the most sense. It is amazing that Eminem had the same vision over a year ago. As far as waiting for 'the groups' to make a decision....screw it. Where are they? You shouldn't even have to be asking. We can't wait for Conyers, he took over 6 months to push for a censure over the iraq war, when we have more than enough evidence for impeachment.

A DU supported protest sounds like the BEST idea. If you want to make a definite decision, I will write benfrank.net and see if he'll make a special banner for DU.

Better yet, maybe Mopaul wants to make one-that would be really cool?!. Maybe Skinner would consider putting it up as a banner ad?
