"Santorum Breaks Ties With Law Center"
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Sen. Rick Santorum on Thursday withdrew his affiliation from the Christian-rights law center that defended a school district's policy mandating the teaching of "intelligent design."

Santorum, the Senate's No. 3 Republican who is facing a tough re-election challenge next year, earlier praised the Dover Area School District for "attempting to teach the controversy of evolution."

But the day after a federal judge ruled the district's policy on intelligent design unconstitutional, Santorum told The Philadelphia Inquirer he was troubled by testimony indicating religion motivated some board members to adopt the policy.

Santorum was on the advisory board of the Michigan-based Thomas More Law Center, which defended the district's policy. The law center describes its mission as defending the religious freedom of Christians.

1. What stupid reasoning
"Santorum told The Philadelphia Inquirer he was troubled by testimony indicating religion motivated some board members to adopt the policy"

What else besides religion would motivate someone to adopt a policy that is on based on a religous belief? He's going to have a hard time defending himself from the RR on this one. LOL...What a dork!!

6. No he doesn't!
Santorum stands for every single thing he has endorsed over the years. He rode the wave of conservative distortions and lies for a long time. It was the only way a nut like him could get elected. Now that the Santorum finds his self high and dry, he is only acting like a moderate. Make no mistake. Santorum is a very dangerous nutcase conservative no different than John Bolton or Douglas Feith. They're all nuts. Santorum is only trying to get reelected. If he does, he then has another six years to carry as much water as he can for the nutcase fundies.

4. Never forget
"Sen. Rick Santorm" is an anagram for A Scrotum Skinner. Say it loud, say it proud, and say it often.

7. The real story here is the menace to liberty demonstrated by...
the Thomas Moore Foundation -- a mostly Catholic arm of the Christian Fundamentalist campaign to pervert the United States into a theocracy, its fanatical stance against evolution endorsed by the Pope himself:

http://www.thomasmore.org/news.html?NewsID=379

And of course by President George Bush:

http://www.thomasmore.org/news.html?NewsID=347

(Support for "intelligent design" is implicitly support for theocracy because "intelligent design" not only demands the suppression of scientific fact but the attendant forcible indoctrination of children in one of the core dogmas of Abrahamic religion: that a male divinity somehow "created" the universe from nothing -- the source not only of Abrahamic society's increasingly suicidal alienation from Nature, but of its infinitely murderous beliefs in its right to tyrannize the world and viciously oppress the female gender.)

Santorum has expressed his enthusiastic support for Christian theocracy many times, to such an extent that in his home state of Pennsylvania even some Christians -- that is, those who value liberty above doctrinal conformity -- are beginning to question Santorum's suitability for office. That Santorum is now opportunistically abandoning the Thomas Moore ship is a deceptive response to those questions -- merely an act of political expedience: sleight-of-hand intended to confuse voters now that the Dover case has revealed the extent to which "intelligent design" mandates the deliberate imposition of theocratic tyranny, and therefore not only the frightening extent of Santorum's support for Christian fascism and theocracy in general but also his rabid opposition both to the principles of American constitutional liberty and the very notion of individual freedom.

Let us hope the voters of Pennsylvania continue their awakening and that Santorum receives the ouster he so rightfully deserves.

11. CORRECTION: in my haste to get this material posted,
I misspelled the name of the foundation, correctly "Thomas More Foundation" (though pronounced "Moore") -- which I knew but somehow couldn't transmit from mind to fingers. Such is pre-coffee numb-lock of the brain: a red-faced apology to the nuns and teachers of my boyhood and the editors of my youth, all of whom surely taught me better.

8. How utterly duplicitous
Ricky is trying desperately to reframe himself as a "moderate". . .after years of being a 700 Club poster child. Surely Pennsylvanians have enough brains to read through this deception.

If one thing stands out in EVERY citizen's mind, this deceptive campaign reveals just how much of a non-christian Ricky really is. . .and how the only pact he's made is with the devil.
