Bush cookbook ....GOOD PEOPLE AND GOOD FOOD , December 18, 2005
Reviewer: C Schoenjohn (South Florida) - See all my reviews
P. Hansen from the "west coast" is obviously a bit "left" biased..and probably loves vegetarian quiche and has a Jerry Brown bumper sticker on his car.....people like him remind me exactly why I moved my business from CA to Florida 5 yrs ago ...This is a solid book with excellent recipes ..wouldn't exactly call it health food ...but no true good food is ;)...

Makes me nostalgic for the wonderful 1950s., December 17, 2005
Reviewer: P. Hansen "From The West Coast" (California) - See all my reviews

I felt bad when I saw this on the remainder stack at Borders. I bought it cause I know the Bush family needs all the support they can get these days. And money for their lawyers soon too. But when I gained 40 pounds in a week eating their food I wondered if maybe Castro wouldn't be calling me fat soon so I had to toss the book. I tried to be a good American but fat is fat you know?

just really good food, November 26, 2005
Reviewer: Patricia Fisher "Professor of Literature" (Cambridge, Ma.. USA) - See all my reviews
The writing was well done, easy to follow, and the recipes I tried were delicious. I did adapt some so they were less fattening, but it didn't detract from the quality. This book will definitly be given as Christmas gifts to the food fanciers of my family and friends.

Good food for good people!, November 3, 2005
Reviewer: Jennie Taliaferro "avid reader" (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews

I can't wait to prepare for myself these terrific dishes that have kept the Bush family happy and healthy and ready to meet any challenge. <...>
The Bushes are known for their good taste and their close, loving family that enjoys being together and great food is obviously an integral part of that so these recipes are bound to be fantastic.
(Even the grifter Clinton couldn't resist being a recipient of their hospitality at Kennebunkport and you know how he loves to eat!)

"The recollections of one George W. Bush, with appropriate flashbacks and soliloquy. Or more simply stated, the evolution of man, the cycle of going from dust to dessert, the metamorphosis from being the ruler of a planet to an ingredient in someone's soup. It's tonight's bill of fare on The Twilight Zone."

27. Written by Ariel De Guzman
Edited on Fri Dec-23-05 01:16 AM by DesertRat
"Today, after more than twenty years of cooking for the former President and First Lady and managing their household, Ariel is virtually a member of the family. Preparing and organizing meals that range from casual pool parties to birthday dinners to formal state affairs, De Guzman has been present every time the Bushes have gathered round the table -- at the Vice President's House, the White House, the Houston residence, and Walker's Point in Kennebunkport. In The Bush Family Cookbook, he brings the stories and flavors of those moments to readers."

If she's a member of the family, do you share the family wealth with her? I didn't think so.

38. That means....
the rich believe they are more important to their servants than they are, as the rich are unable to imagine the help as having lives of their own and considering their servant job just that--a job.

It's also a way the rich deal with the guilt of having paid slaves--"oh, but he's virtually a member of the family!"

I've known more rich people than I care to remember.
