Maybe Bush Can Send Out Another $500 Tax Refund
As far as I can see the most popular thing Bush ever did in office was buy votes. Surely no one has forgotten the $500 per family income tax refund check. Hey, it worked the last time.

This time around he could make it $1,000 per person, resident, alien, no matter. Give credit for the unborn too, just get a note from your doctor and and sonogram. What the hell, the economy is shot all to hell anyway, what's a couple of billion more? Besides, it would make the nation more tranquil, and isn't that the aim of the war on terror?

3. There was actually a budget surplus at that time........
thanks to Bill Clinton. Bush has given it all away and almost a Trillion dollars more. He can't write anymore bad checks. HIs gimmick of the instant refund was a one time deal for him. No fiscally responsible member of Congress would ever allow him to do it again, not even his Republican robots.

4. I didn't get a damn thing
The only thing I got was audited by the IRS. I had to pay some damn accountant a bunch of money to prove that I live below poverty level. How would you like that?

A check? Hell, I had to pay a bunch of money to some rethuglican awhole to prove I have nothing! And you don't think you are being "watched"? Think again is my advice. :( :evilfrown:

:dem: :kick:

5. It was $300 per person.
It was really your tax refund early. In other words, when you filed your taxes and were suppose to get back a $500 refund, you only received a $200 refund because you had already been sent the $300. For those who didn't get a tax refund, that $300 had to be paid back. Of course, the way the administration phrased it, most Americans really believed the gov't was giving them free money.

7. Yeah, Did I pay tax on that $300?
They gave me $300, didn't that count against income, so you basically had to pay tax on your own money... or am I wrong?

8. It was a "loan" from your "next year" refund
If your income was wrong or withholding wrong, you had to give it back at tax time..otherwise, it was deducted from what you eventually got.. No $300 giveaway and you were due $1000, you got the $1K..if you got the $300 in August, the next April you got the other $700.. It was a LOAN of your own money
