I realize this is probably old news, but what's the deal? I really enjoyed his work.

1. I'm not sure anyone knows all the details
It has something to do with the CEO having his cranium up his rectum.

2. I'd sure like to know that whole story also.
Marc's last show mentioned (paraphrasing) that he hated the way it ended and it was sad that one person had so much control.

I miss Marc & Mark in the morning, they were a great team and played well off of each other. Riley's show is still great, but the team made it better.

3. Radio Gigs
come and go - various reasons, including ratings, money, personality conflicts, new management.

5. I am not sure he got fired
They wanted to rearrange the schedule and do away with Morning Sedition. They did the same thing with Unfiltered last year. And they are working to get Maron on in LA.

I enjoyed MS and am glad Mark Riley is staying, and that Rachel will move to a time slot where I'll be able to listen to her more. While Marc Maron's leaving is sad, maybe this is a good thing for him. He and his wife rarely got to spend time together.

He may understand music, but talk radio? Not so much...

9. Contract Ran Out...They Couldn't Work Another Deal
Lots of speculation around here, but from all the "insider, radio-geek" sites, it was the typical "philosophical differences"...Maron wanted more money (don't we all) and freedom to do free-lance and stand-up while the network wasn't too hot on the idea...thus when his contract ended, they agreed to not agree.

Also, Maron wanted to have the option to base himself out of LA while AAR wants everything in New York. If I recall, the network or the LA affiliate was offering him a Saturday show. I haven't read anything about where that's gone.

I wish him the best...hopefully we'll be seeing and hearing him again. This also creates a new opportunity for a new progressive voice to step forward...and nothing wrong with that.

Merry Holidays...
