Anyone see Tavis Smiley's Katrina photo montage last pm?
it was SO good- Don't know if it is on-line or accessable- but anyone can find it- it's worth watching-
Some photos I'd never seen- and the music was just right-

This is probably the wrong forum- but it was so moving- I wish it could be passed aroung to EVERYONE-
It speaks of sorrow, naked honesty, the spirit of endurance- and the shame that this administration should feel, through the faces of some of the 'best' of us- abandoned by the 'compassionate conservitive' rest of 'us'.-

If anyone can find it and link to it- please do-
I'd sure appreciate it-

thanks,
blu

2. the Tavis Smiley show on
PBS- it was pretty late here (or early) and i needed some background noise when i was up doing some mindless work- He interviewed Dick Van Dyke, and closed with this very brief, but moving photo essay... Both he and Mr.Van Dyke, had ties to NOLA- Tavis' sister and family lived there- Dick had lived there while raising his young family-

A few of the pictures just choked me up- A man holding a babe, with tears rolling down his cheeks- the beautiful older woman draped in the flag- (that one is classic- and a documentary in itself) another man holding the picture of a child- his tired eyes speaking better than words- a young man carrying a dog through the mucky water..... and all the while this haunting song-....

Hope someone can find it- it's worth the watch- and worth passing on.

( we only get pbs, and 2 other fuzzy chanels on our old tv-)

thanks for the kick-

peace,
blu

3. I saw it last night as well... it truly was very moving and well done.
From what I've seen so far Tavis' show is normally pretty good but it is on rather late for some.

I'd enjoy seeing it again too if anyone can find it... maybe on PBSs site?
