Because there were democrats who took money from Abramoff so this asshole could very well be making a plea in order to take down some of those democrats and possibly say nothing about his biggest clients like Tom Delay. Not like he confesses first and then the court decides immunity. No, first immunity and then he could hand over cooked books that implicate all democrats and a few token republicans.

I mean, don't you find it ironic that Delay announced his re-election bid on the same day that Abramoff decides to cop a plea? Maybe Tom knows he'll be 'exonerated' by Abramoff in the process.

1. Prosecutors can withdraw immunity/plea deals...

...when they aren't satisfied that defendants are providing enough information.

He deserves the max. I am tired of people like Abramoff getting less time than some kid with an ounce of pot. I really would like to see some semblance of justice for a change.
