9. So Much Spin...This Man's Been So Mis-Stated

The right wing has him doing the limbo with Michael Moore and Mao Tse-Tung...instead of listening to what this guy is saying and who he's speaking about and to. They're doing this at a tremendous peril...and the GOOP and their spinmeisters couldn't be doing a better job of it at a very critical time.

Murtha speaks to the thousands of active military and the even larger veteran and veteran family community. He can reach them in a way Cindy Sheehan couldn't and speak in a firm voice they respect. This man held his powder until he no longer could deal with the charade this regime was playing, and unlike others who have rolled over to the ham-handed antics of Rove and company, is not going to stand down. Congressman Murtha has become the Walter Cronkite of this invasion...that voice of reason that is shooting straight. Again, Repugnicans go after his at their peril.

Democrats on the other hand can't get too close or too far from what he's doing. Glamming on, or trying to make him a martyr in the same mold of a Cindy Sheehan or any other Rovian target plays into the GOOP herd mentality. Respect what he says, agree fully with his assesment of what is happening and give him a seat at the table when it comes to drafting a plan on how to act or react to the campaign strategy. He's a big bridge into red and purple America. He's also speaking for a growing number of disenfranchised who will only vote for Democrats if they see their candidates as sincere and not attempting to "play politics" with this issue.

Murtha ate Wolfie alive. All the spin and lies...and the Congressman not only shot 'em down, he showed a human side that is rare in the packaged world of corporate media.
