Killing civilians to the tune of 30K is a good thing?

2. She's a partisan hack
She tries to make it look like she just heard of the question. She carries the talking points in her brain chip.

about anything in the Bush reich...

She smiles with delight as she lies.

8. Are lesbians good too, Lynne?

"Let us go away together, away from the anger and imperatives of men. We shall find ourselves a secluded bower where they dare not venture. There will be only the two of us, and we shall linger through long afternoons of sweet retirement. In the evenings I shall read to you while you work your cross-stitch in the firelight. And then we shall go to bed, our bed, my dearest girl."

From Lynne Cheney's book sisters.

10. Yes, the Cheney crew's highest good is blood-soaked Haliburton profits.
They sit around gloating over their stock dividends and say, "Can it get any better than this?"

12. The *'s & Cheneys' are on the side of right and good for SATAN only!
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 11:30 AM by Pithy Cherub
They have no moral goodness or innate ability to do what is right based on their certitude that evil should be pervasive everywhere. They wanted it brought right into the White House. These people argue for torture, spy on Americans, murder innocent Iraqis and send Americans to slaughter so their friends can be rich and in control of the nation's power levers. The bushbots and cheney heartless wonders are the handmaidens and grease monkeys of SATAN!

There is no other explanation, the TRUTH speaks in their actions! :argh:

13. Admitted-30k, actual-100k ...
...Milton Mayer's book, 'They Thought They Were Free', concerns Germans still living after World War II who had been members of the Nazi Party. Mayer came to know them and studied their lives and attitudes.
"As we know Nazism, it was a naked, total tyranny which degraded its adherents and enslaved its opponents and adherents alike; terrorism and terror in daily life, private and public; brute personal and mob injustice at every level of association . . .

"These nine ordinary Germans knew it otherwise, and they still know it otherwise.
"An autocracy? Yes, of course . . . But a tyranny, as you Americans use the term? Nonsense."

How could Germans living under Hitler's National Socialism not have seen what it was? How did their lack of social and personal awareness make them blind to their reality?

How could Americans now possibly be living under a creeping dictatorship and not know it? And how could we not only not see a police state condition but actually think we're living in complete freedom? Because most of us don't WANT to know what's going on. We've lost the ability to think critically about political, economic, and social dangers confronting us. If we have a job--as most people did in Nazi Germany--if the political-economic system seems stable--as it does in America--then that's all we want to know.

"When is completely infantile ... he does not need and does not have an understanding of the outer world. It exists for him merely as gratification or denial."
-Walter Lippmann (1889-1973)

-----

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.

18. If she's talking about America, then I agree, in principle
but if "we" means the BFEE, then definitely not

It was here, back in 1980, that Bruce first talked politics with his fans. Largely self-educated, Springsteen had been given a copy of Allan Nevins and Henry Steele Commager's A Short History of the United States. He read it and told the crowd that America "held out a promise and it was a promise that gets broken every day in the most violent way. But it's a promise that never, ever dies, and it's always inside of you."

"The United States has two faces, the contemptible face of Bush, and the sweet face of Rachel (Corrie)." Linda Heard

"If America's record is better than that of most countries — and it is — it's because of our system: our tradition of openness, and checks and balances.

Yet Mr. Bush, despite all his talk of good and evil, doesn't believe in that system." Paul Krugman
