shopping for christmas without christmas carols .... is just not christmas
and although my shopping was limited to the local dollar store for a box to place some business cards i made for a friend ... it just did not feel like christmas when none of the background music was christmas related.

1. I'm the opposite
I'm going to murder somebody if I have to go to the drugstore and everything they're playing is the goddamn Chipmunks or something.

Christmas music is evil.

4. at this point i hear that you prefer not to have christmas music while you
shop, for me ... listening to christmas carols while i shop makes fills a certain something in my heart ...

given my nature, i could enter into an entire argument in favor of the christmas music, yet, i am either too tired right now, or too sleepy, or have enough sense to respect your differing opinion and need to not have christmas music played while you shop, i just respect the place where you are coming from ... the point is, i surprise myself in finding that i have space for your opinion and those opinions of others who will, in one way or another, be different from either of our opinions... and still find that i am at peace with the fact that we each and all have our different ways of seeing things.

the world is a happy place when we can do that.

i am tired, i am sleepy. and i am going to bed for a little while.

5. yeah, that sounds like it might be a little bit too much, too soon!
The christmas sounds are so out of the ambiance here that this evening i actually enjoyed watching an entire ANDRE RIEU christmas music program, and still managed to miss programs like CHRISTMAS at the MET, or CARNIEGIE HALL, or those PERRY COMO CHRISTMAS programs, etc.

anyhow...i am so sleepy right now that i could just fall asleep on this chair...so i am going to take myself to bed and sleep for a little while.

But may we all have a happy day tomorrow as the day awakens, or as a friend of mine said recently, may we all find our keys right where we look for them.

:)

6. I don't like *blaring* Christmas music.
And if I'm in a store, I don't want to hear vocals. Instrumental or orchestral music at low volume is best.

7. I wish they' stop that damn Christmas music! Most of it is no GOOD
music to begin with. Mainly though I have always loved to sing with the family. But, please, who wants to sing a damn Christmas charol anymore after having been forced to listen to Christmas music for weeks on end from the bakery to the drugstore to every damn elevator in the country?? The only thing that does for me is a big sigh of relief when it's finally over. And it could be such a nice feast.

10. it'd be nice if they had waited to a little closer to the christmas time
to play the music... i wonder if other countries are experiencing the same anti-christ-mas music as these here u.s.a seems to be experiencing. somehow i have the feeling that they are not.

9. I've been avoiding any Christmas music.........
Grandma got run over by a reindeer.....etc..this stuff started too soon to suit me and I even changed my normally scheduled radio station. I think Christmas trees & decorations in Sept. did it to me. :grr:

12. when i was a child we used to put up our christmas tree around the middle
of december. one of my aunts didn't put up her tree until christmas eve!!!!!! and it would be promptly taken down Jan. 1st. and i don't reall when the christmas music started to play but it must have been around the beginning or the middle of december, not before. certainly never before thanksgiving! yes. too much. can be too much.
