David Corn. Can liberals/progressives really trust him?
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 10:45 PM by LiviaOlivia
FOX commentator and Washington "inside guy".

What is Corn's relationship with Time's Viveca Novak and her husband, Robert D. Lenhard? Lenhard just got nominated for a seat on the FEC by Bush. The Dem seat no less.

1. Friendship which tints his glasses rose.
Lenhard and Novak are both considered Democrats in his book and he thought that at least Viveca was kosher in terms of political orientation. And that may even be true. Luskin is a "Democrat" too, but apparently, this does not absolve him from being a snake in his dealings with Viveca. Anything for his client, I guess.

Corn was naive. Unfortunately, there's a lot of naive people in the world when it comes to their friends. Brownie looked like he was doing a heckuva job too.

2. I don't trust David Corn
he went out of his way to criticize those who believed the 2004 election was stolen, and ridicules anyone who thinks that Bush or BFEE had anything to do with 9/11.

He takes plenty of certifiable liberal positions, but in my view is Mr. Limited Hangout when the chips are really down.

Which probably explains why he's landed at Fox.

4. Why on earth would you need to "trust him" or not?
It's not like he's got the power to issue decrees or something. He's a writer and commentator; you can choose to believe the things he says or not to.

5. Right. He has no power. Yet people here use him as a source.
I believe it's OK to trust the writings of certain journalists/pundits.

Do you want my list? Corn is a fucking dry humping dog so he's not on it.

6. You didn't answer my question.
Thanks for letting me know it's OK to trust the writings of certain journalists/pundits, though.

7. Hey you're welcome.
And I answered your "question". But we both know that it was really an attack.
Are you protecting some "Corn hole"?

11. No you didn't.

And my whole point is that I don't really need to protect him or not because there's nothing I really rely on him for that I couldn't get from other writers and/or commentators, but since you saw fit to ask me a stupid question presumably to try to fend me off, I'll finish the job and put you on ignore.

15. Corn has only been a pretty reliable left-liberal commentator...
...for at least a decade. I'm surprised to see all the venom toward him.

You disagree with the guy on an issue or two and he's part of the conspiracy?

16. i don't trust anybody, but i like david corn
he's consistently progressive, and he broke this minor story a while back about the illegal exposure of some undercover agent named plame or something, and i can appreciate that ...

i'm not sure what figure in the mainstream media is more consistently in line with progressives, other than krugman ...

17. If David Corn cannot be trusted
Why does "The Nation" let him write for them? Why does "Commondreams.org" and Buzzflash.com have a links to him? I don't read him because I really don't like his writing style so I'm out of the loop as to what he's been saying.
