Janeane Garafalo's dad on "Left of the dial"
I just caught the HBO documentary "Left of the dial" which chronicles the beginning of Air America Radio.

Janeane had her dad on, Carmine, and he was a staunch Bush supporter.

Does anyone know if Carmine is still a Bush supporter or has Janeane managed to bring him around?

1. yup he is
I get very pissed when she has him on the show

I understand he is her family, but he is a MULE

and I don't turn on AAR to listen to mules

He hasn't been on for some time now, so maybe she got the message

2. Same with Al Franken and his friend
who's a big fan of Rush Limpballs. WTF do they invite those people on? They are the LAST people I want to hear on AAR. I PAY $$$$$$ to hear AAR and I don't appreciate their willingness to let RWers on our radio network. :grr:

3. Well I think with Al
It's a sort of debate. Trying to show his friend how much Rush and these folks lie about everything. I'm not sure about Jeanane and her dad since I've never listened when her dad has been on. Does Al still have his friend on all the time or just here and there?

7. That's just it.
I don't want CIVIL DISCOURSE with the idgits. I want them GONE, out of my life FOREVER and I have no intentions of being civil to them. They don't deserve it. As I see it, they have 8 years of PURE hell coming their way because of what they did to Clinton. NOW, I added 8 MORE years of pure hell coming their way because of what they've done to my country. Civil discourse my ass. They need VENOM spit at them. Dems are too damn nice. Al is TOO civil.

6. I stopped listening to his show because
of his friend. :) I stopped listening after he did his poll on AAR on whether or not his friend should be on or not. It was freeped, and he kept his friend on.:( If I wanted to listen to RW crap, I'd tune in Limpballs , Insannity or O'LIElly for FREE. He will never change his friend's mind so I don't understand why he continues to have him on. It's a huge waste of LIBERAL airtime while Al plays Limball clips, ACK! and heaven knows the repukes have more than enough people on the radio.

8. I does demonstrate something important IMO
You'll notice that the RWers they bring on to debate, such as Janeane's dad or Al's dittohead friend, will nearly always acknowledge the validity of the liberal argument of whatever the issue is. But they never budge from their political identification. This shows that it REALLY is about identity for these folks. You can argue issues til you're blue in the face and get them to agree on most, if not all of them. But if you can't get to their emotions, and their deepest inner sense of themselves, forget it. They're going to vote for * because it's the "manly" thing to do (big thing for the guys) or because of Moral Values.

But I agree, it IS irritating to us reality based folks.

9. I agree with you, except you don't have to pay for AAR in many places
it is over the air. I pay for it also though
