What does that make George W Bush, putting in all of these constitution-burning laws and things to "protect" us with? To keep us "safe" and "secure".

2. It requires a heavy dose of both physical and moral cowardice.

The argument boils down to, "to be safe from physical harm, we must compromise our ideals".

I've never understood how people with that outlook can pretend to be "tough guys". They're the opposite of tough guys.

exactly related to this. but it is not just the repug. we saw it on this board with the man shot on airplane. though no threat of bomb, no word bomb, the preceived threat or thought, the could be, was enough to take a life to protect the many. well, when that gun is pointed at me, or you or those that are ok with this mans death, they/we should be a tad more fearful that ending our one life is really not that big of a deal
