Proud to be a "Bush Hater"
You know, the Neocon Right tries to tar us with the label "Bush Hater" as though that was some sort of bad thing to be!

I am PROUD to say that I hate his guts. I hate his Daddy's guts. I hate his brother's collective guts. And I don't much care for his twins, either!

I think we need to make it clear to these goons that we ARE Bush Haters, and that being a Bush Hater is just as much of an insult as saying that we are "Nazi Haters", "Klan Haters", "Stalin Haters", or "Terrorist Haters." Totally the same thing.

There is just so much about G. W. Bush to loathe that you can even pick and choose. Don't hate him because he went AWOL during 'Nam? Well, then, hate him because he is a miserable drunk who has NOT given up his drinking if reports I have recently heard are true.

We need T-shirts, Bumper Stickers, Posters, Car Signs, all proudly saying "BUSH HATER!"

1. Anything they can do to deflect criticism of their boy king.
It's ad hominem all the way with them. What? You criticized the president? You must be a BUSH HATER. Ergo, your criticisms are the result of a personal hatred and bias, and nullified.

It's a sign of desperation. They realize they can no longer defend the * thugs, and this is their last resort.

Do I hate Bush? Naw, it's not worth the effort. But I hate everything he is doing to the country I love. THAT'S where my hate comes from.

2. I hate the whole freaking Bush family.
I thought I was the only one. I positively loathe Barbara Bush, the former First Lady. From what I've read about her, she's a mean, vindictive piece of work.

Obviously, the Bush family has never heard of the concept of "noblesse oblige". The idea if you are blessed with wealth and power, like the Bush family is, then you give something back to the world. All the Bush family cares about is taking care of the corporate interests that have supported George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Jeb Bush's political careers.

6. Read "Made in Texas" to understand the worldview of these
"plantation owner" mentalities. Taking their privileges as God-given and seeing the rest of the population as simply a low-cost (or no-cost in the case of slaves) labor pool.

16. "blessed with wealth and power"
Their blessings largely came from Nazi bank investments.
http://www.bushwatch.net/bushfuhrer.htm

I've seen more articles about this fact circulating recently. Unfortunately it will probably never make the "mainstream" press.

I'd have to agree that as a family they seem to be a bunch of heartless, cutthroat bastards.

Even FAUX news! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,100474,00.html

Granted, the AP version is condsiderably whitewashed, but this is far more than I expected from the Ministry of Propaganda.

3. THANK YOU BENBURCH
I'll say it again: this piece of garbage STOLE THE ELECTION, WRECKED THE ECONOMY, CREATED DEFECITS AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE. He ILLEGALLY INVADED IRAQ, KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. He has waged war on WOMEN, MINORITIES, THE ENVIRONMENT. Our soldiers are GETTING KILLED EVERY DAY. If *EVER* there were reasons to HATE someone, THESE ARE THE REASONS.

13. Of course we hate the son of a bitch.....
The media whores love to use the "bush-hater" label because they think somehow that dismisses anything you say about his policies and decisions. We hate him for his decisions, his actions, and just because he's a fucking asshole. We have good reason to hate him. The media whores can kiss my ass. When this is all over, and we have taken our country back, they will need to be de-programmed, in order to function in a civilized society.

19. This "Bush-Hater" meme is one we'd be wise to counteract
The Right Wing wants to portray Shrub's opponents as irrational hysterics, motivated by dark and violent emotions, when the fact is of course that there is way more than enough reason to want this person removed from office based on facts alone.

It wasn't until I began to pick up on the recent Rove-directed "hatred" schpiel on the talks shows that I realized that I DON'T hate George W. Bush. I simply believe him to be a dimwitted, amoral, unethical, willfully ignorant man who should never have been placed in the oval office.

Out of control emotions, like hate, have nothing to do with my opinion of GWB. Hate is a self-defeating, wasteful use of energy. Which is exactly how the right wants to portray their opponents.

Naturally, few if any Dems are calling this "hatred" marketing campaign for what it is. Are they slow, or just scared?

23. Only one way to counteract it, IMHO
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 01:38 PM by benburch
I understand what you mean, but, I don't think that you can counteract it in any way other than turning it into a badge one proudly wears!

Example;

How gay people have owned the Pink Triangle, "Queer", "Dyke" and other such words and symbols. You can no longer use those words to offend a gay person. If you try, you don't get the results you hope for!

So, the next time somebody calls you "Bush Hater," SMILE, and proudly say "Thank you! You bet I am!"

As a proud member of the Bastard Nation (www.bastards.org), I agree with you completely. There is no shame in being a bastard and no shame in despising Bush.

Now, can we also proudly say that when elected we are going to tax the daylights out of the wealthiest 1%? And raise the minimum wage? I'm sick and tired of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and working 11 hours a day at two part-time jobs. Damn!

30. this is an orchestrated RNC strategy
It's probably the most clever strategy in their playbook right now.

If criticism is painted as hate, it can be dismissed by middle America.

You're hearing this daily from the RNC talking points:

1. All the desperate Dems have is hate, and they can't win an election on just hatred of Bush.

2. They hate him so much they're losing their minds. (Tucker Carlson's specialty)

3. They hate Bush more than conservatives hated Clinton (WARNING! Equivocating hatred of Clinton with hatred of Bush is meant to dismiss Bush critics!)

Throw it back in their faces.

32. Do you HATE him or ABHOR him?
Hate: to have strong dislike or ill will for (defined by Webster's)

Abhor: to shrink from in disgust, hatred (defined by Webster's).

I abhor Bush.* It's the shrink factor.

33. Abhor
But when one is talking to Republicans, one needs to stick to the 2000 word basic English vocabulary, and keep the sentence length down to 6 words or less.
