Flying Spaghetti Monster in Playboy!

So, mr. liberty got his Jan06 Playboy in the mail yesterday. Today, he was looking thru it, cracked up, said, "Listen to this..." and began reading the piece which I've transcribed below.
I've searched and can't find this posted, hope this isn't a dupe. Enjoy!

This can be found in the Playboy Forum, in the Marginalia section; 4th story, beginning at page 45:

From a letter to the Kansas Board of Education at venganza.org: "I read of your hearing to decide whether intelligent design should be taught along with evolution. We can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple viewpoints. I am concerned, however, that students will hear only one theory of intelligent design. I and many others are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. He built the world to make us think the earth is older than it really is. For example, a scientist may perform a carbon dating process on an artifact and find it to be 10,000 years old. But what he does not realize is that every time he makes a measurement, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is there changing the results with His Noodly Appendage. We have numerous texts that describe how this can be possible. You also may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking number of pirates since the 1800s. I have included a graph that shows this statistically significant inverse relationship. I await your response and hope dearly that no legal action will need to be taken."

I think people should start using the FSM in debates with the fundies to show them how ridiculous they look. I'm Christian but science is about what you see and can study. "Intelligent Design" is in the belief of a Creator. You can't prove God exists but you can't prove he doesn't either.

I was so surprised when I came in and found it on the Greatest Page, ya'll have made my day! I didn't post it in the OP, but this was my first Original Post. My meager post count is deceiving; I've lurked, read, and been addicted to DU practically since it's inception. It's the only site I spend any real time at for news and political info, or entertainment for that matter. Have I mentioned I'm addicted? It's probably not a good idea, having DU as my home page!
