Ewwwwww. I don't care what issues they might be working on together. This is a hateful old homophobic, racist man. :puke:

God, why is he still alive. x(

2. Two of a Kind.
Bono was a dated, mediocre musician in the 1980's, and his untalented band regurgitates the same method music for the masses every six months, and fly around the world in their own millionaire jets.

3. Bono isn't a Democrat, or Republican, or a politician
Just a guy who's willing to use his celebrity in diplomatic and charitable ways. If he can get Helms to help out humanity in some way, then I'm all for Bono's efforts.

7. Yeah, that's fine...
... unless all these corporate and political animals are using him for their own purposes. I don't think Bono's smart enough to know when they're using him.

Helms single-handedly caused more damage around the world than Bono can ever fix. What I want to know is if Helms is simply using Bono to resurrect his shoddy image....

4. I'm always amused when people are shocked to find out Bono is an asshole.
It's like, weren't you watching those U2 videos?! The schmuck is a pretentious, unpleasant, sanctimonious, self-serving hack with a fifth rate New Wave combo backing him up. And he sings like a dying caribou having its last orgasm. His very presence runs counter to everything Rock and Roll has ever been about.

If you couldn't glean that from watching U2's videos, god help ya.

Fuck off, Bono.

10. You will like my Bono story....
Hanging around backstage at the Austin Music Hall.

Here comes Bono smoking a huge cigar, wearing a derby and nothing else.

Surrounded by four babes in bikinis. Each girl was carrying a full lenghth mirror so he could see himself from all angles.

I have been around a lot of eccentric people but Bono takes the cake.

If you knew me you would not have written that.

I have a major bone (professional) to pick with the band.

And I will bet I have had as much as anyone you have ever known. Used to specialize in the boogie in my time.

None of us are perfect and Bono really is a prick. Ever meet him?

They are still a great act, don't get me wrong on that.

And I have all kinds of stories about folks in the biz.

Rock on.

Tom

33. Well, obviously...just look at his name
Bono Vox is Latin for "good voice", if I'm not mistaken. How conceited can you get?

Stories of his womanizing are pretty legendary, too. And he's married. I think people need to get a little perspective check about the people they admire...sometimes they may do some great things, but have utterly reprehensible personal lives.

8. wah, wah, wah...I'd recommend people go to a U2 concert.
You'll leave with...hope! I went to a U2 concert in the liberal bastion of Georgia, and it was basically two hours of anti-war stuff, (and one comment about the NRA that pissed off some rednecks to my right) and drumming up support for Africa.

If Bono can get a nasty, racist old man to donate money to Africa, then he is a clever person indeed. Perhaps he should change his stage name to John the Conqueror...

36. What you forget is that Bono basically convinced Congress to fund 15 Bil
15 billion in aids research from a Republican congress, Bono worked on that for 5 years actually. If the Dems were in office he'd be gladhanding them more often, but unfortunately we're not. Bono doesn't really give a rats ass who's in office, he just wants to try to help sick and dying people in Africa.

I swear, the ignorance around here sometimes is so frightening.

25. Bono (and the Edge) did and interview on the Ovation Channel
He went out of his way to deride Liberals because they demonize people with whom they disagree. He went on to characterized Bush as a likable and amiable guy even though he disagrees with him. That's all fine and good, if being personable to Bush will get him funding, it's nothing to me. (What a dumbass though, every whore knows you get the money Upfront) I have to take exception with his characterization of liberals however. I don't know what cocoon Bono and company have built for them selves but where I live Liberals are maligned, castigated and harassed, and have been for as long as I can remember. If he thinks Bush and the Republicans have been unfairly portrayed by their victims he has been too long in the limelight, too comfortable in that limo. Then again maybe rich liberals act differently than do poor liberals, I can't say, I've never met a rich liberal.
