Do any Iraqis understand yet?
Do you think many Iraqis have put 2 and 2 together, looked at the 'permanent' military bases we have built, realized that most of their election candidates are U.S. stooges, and understand yet that we are NOT leaving their country?

When are our own citizens going to realize it?

1. They know about the bases in their country as well as we know about ours.

I'm sure the Iraq's have also.

Any US citizen that doesn't know that fact is either a mental midget or in deep denial

I'm pretty sure most of the Sunni Iraq's don't mind a USA presence since Iran is there next door neighbor.

5. Just because the people of Iraq want us out doesn't mean
they don't understand we will continue to have a presence there militarily as in air fields and bases for ops into Iran.

4. I don't think the Iraqi's have the luxury...
of stupidity. From Riverbend...http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/
As it is, people fear the Americans will be here for the next twenty years- unless they are bombed and attacked out of the country. Although many Iraqis support armed resistance in theory, I think that the average Iraqi simply wants to see them go back home in one piece- we feel sorry for them and especially sorry for their families at times. There are moments when you forget the personal affronts- the raids, the checkpoints, the fear of bombing, the detentions, etc. and you can see through it all to the actual person behind the weapons and body armor... On the other hand, you never forget that it's a foreign occupation and will meet with resistance like all foreign occupations.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice can all swear that American troops will not pull out of the country no matter how many casualties they sustain, but history has proven otherwise

6. I don't think the Iraqis have any choice in the matter.
They can't convince us to leave diplomatically because the powers that be want to be there for eternity.

They can't force us to leave because then we'll kill them.
