Putting all the Bushco BS aside, should we be concerned about Iran?
Ahmadinejad is looking like a true nut. And the reports over the past weeks have been heating up in regards to their nuke capabilities. Did * cry wolf with Iraq, which could lead to ramifications with Iran? Or this just budding heads of the Likud, Bushco and Iran?

1. Concerned with Iran?
As much as any other country should be concerned about countries with nuclear capabilities. How can we, globally, tell countries they cannot have access to the same type of knowledge that we have? Who gets to decide who can and cannot have nuclear abilities? If the United States were truly concerned about it and took steps to making sure no one had the capabilities, us included, I would be more inclined to go along, but since we insist on keeping ours let everyone have theirs.

We're going to destroy ourselves anyway.

2. "Real men want to go to Tehran"
The Iraq disaster will probably lead to a real war with Iran. I think that is the real purpose to being in Iraq. The neocons want a war for control of the middle east.

BTW, by real war, I mean we would have a draft and millions of Muslims would die. This war would be from Europe to India and nukes would be used. I hope I'm wrong but here's an article saying that the neocons are itching to go in.

3. Yes, we should be concerned about Iran. We frigging destroyed their
democracy in 1953, and installed the horrible, torture-loving "Shah of Iran" (a CIA stooge). The Iranians have never forgiven us for that. A blip in the news to us. Their whole country, to them.

So that's where we should start with Iran. With AN APOLOGY!

4. Iran has no history at all of aggressive behavior.
Why exactly are they not allowed to defend themselves?

Their president says stupid things. Hmmm... is that a crime? 'cause I can think of another president who has said a lot of stupid hateful things.

How about we get the heck out of the middle east and focus our resources on energy independence through alternative sources, conservation, and mass transit? Then all of the ethnic rivalries and religious conflicts in the region can sort themselves out just fine without our incompetent meddling.

5. Yes
Iran and Israel lobbing nukes at each other could be the end of us all, through escalation.

10. It's just soooo easy

Israel threatens Iran with a pre-emptive strike against weapons sites. Iran threatens Israel with a a nuclear exchange. Russia deploys several mechanized divisions to protect Russian built nuclear plants and assets in Iran. The US warns Russia about 'naked aggression' and we go to DEF CON3, and AWACS go up and US missile subs in the Persian Gulf 'spin up' their missiles for a launch against Russian military in Iran while Stateside ICBMs go on higher alert for a launch against Russian military installations. So while Israel and Iran are squared off against each other, Russia and the US are as well.

You can plug in any number of scenarios. Also think about what India and Pakistan or even N.Korea are up to while everybody else is occupied with this.

11. At some point, Israel will attack Iran
...for perceived security reasons, along the lines of their pre-emptive strike on Iraq's nuclear weapons facility years ago. Any discussions of whar Bushco might do are academic. Sine Iran is no "slam dunk", and since Bushco doesn't have the know-how or even remote interest in matters of diplomacy, the response from them will be posturing axis-of-evil stuff with no real action plan beyond that. Israel on the other hand is not likely to sit on the sidelines and wait for a Mideast nuclear threat to materialize.
