Interviewing soldier home on R&R says he is AWOL and is not going back, says he has been close to death 3 times by bombing etc. News says there are about 8 who have said they are not going back. So you better believe it is worse than being reported

What he's seen, and now he's got to be AWOL, and who knows what they'll do to him. Infuriating.

The Commander in Chimp has lots of experience in the realm of desertion, so I'm sure he'll know how to handle it. :-)

3. Since W was never prosecuted for going AWOL
the soldiers who have seen real action and know from 1st hand experience that they are protecting the US of Halliburton, have every right to go AWOL. Unfortunately, since they aren't rich frat brats with powerful daddy's they probably will be prosecuted without mercy.

6. Randi Rhodes said the other day that going AWOL is not big
deal. She is ex-military (I don't really know the exact connection), but she was hammering on this the other day. I was just talking about this to my husband, saying "I wonder what would happen if all the troops on R&R just don't go back?"

8. The media has a habit of "filtering out" all of Bush's successes in Iraq.
