10. McConnell and Frist are now ganging up on Byrd and re-writing
history. Are there two more disgusting men in Senate history? Nope. Smarmy, lying ass repugs determined to shut down the filibuster over Alito. The damn fools are trying to argue the Constitution with Byrd - stupid, stupid repugs.

Byrd just said that Frist comes to the floor with uncleaned hands over filibuster over judges. The Old Man is on fire.

8. Schooling Frist on when he voted against cloture
Frist saying that because Paez eventually got the vote, it is ok. Byrd is smacking him down.

9. Frist arging for up or down vote, Byrd, senators have a right to
talk, and your wrong when you site history, its not history, your denying rights for an up or down vote..

Ill tell you, the republicans have killed lots of nominees with an up or down vote..

Go byrd, expose this idiot.

'History is not on his side.'

I think that pretty much sums it up.

34. Given that Frist is a surgeon,
and given what he did when he was a student, do you think that could also have been a veiled reference to Bill's "Cat-killer" past?

36. I thought he was referencing Miers
But it was a very vivid choice of words. I think that only Byrd could get away with it.

37. That works, too.
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 05:43 PM by GrpCaptMandrake
I love the idea of using an ancient legal doctrine, that of "unclean hands," to describe a right-wing surgeon. That *had* to cut the cat-killer deeply.

Of course, it also works on the level of Frist's insider-trading troubles.

On edit: Nice to see you, Eleny! I hadn't seen any of your posts in awhile. The boards at headonradio.com have been mostly cleansed of our freeper freaks.

38. No kidding!
So you scrubbed the place! Good for you.

We're preparing for a long trip out of town. So, I've been quieter lately. I try to listen to the program when I can. DU and left radio keeps my sanity intact. We're finally getting a laptop and I hope to be able to listen in when we're on the road. WiFi rules! :hi:

16. "The American people want civil debate, " translation:
"The GOP wants the Democrats to bend over." The sad part is that the polling isn't telling the Democrats to do the right thing, so they won't.

He is obviously doing the bidding of someone else. He's probably being threatened with losing his job or with his life.
