Has anyone received their new social security award letter yet?
I live on SSI, every year usually in November I get a new award letter telling me what the cola increase will be for the coming year. It's 12 December and hasn't got here yet, I'm getting a little apprehensive, I also have defaulted student loans and after the sc ruling last week I'm wondering if maybe they're trying to figure out just how much they can cut and still leave me alive long enough to recoup a pittance of what the govt. wants.

1. We are on regular social security and haven't
received the letter yet either. I realized it a few days ago and have been wondering where it is.

2. My spouse's came a few days ago
I think they send them out alphabetically; surname begins with the letter "B" so it was one of the first ones to go out.

Try not to worry ...

3. Yes. It came today.
I've recently become eligible for SS and was kinda vague on any COLA increase --- but the letter says that for 2006 the increase is 4.1%

8. If they can cut it they will. It is a shame that would
happen, but we do not have thinking people in government anymore. I got my letter--they gave me a raise and immediately took it back by raising the medicare premium.

10. I subsist on SSI. Letter from State of CA states reduction by $30

So, I assume the letter from SS, which I haven't received yet, told me the "good" news that I would get an increase of $30.00.
