Rove must be distracted: Bush took questions from the audience...
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 02:20 PM by sabra
Granted 2 of them, started with the phrase, "I support you" and "I voted for you in both elections". However the other 2 were real, and true questions. Questions that you might here on DU.

Questions:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/12/12/bush.qanda.philly/

QUESTION: Since the inception of the Iraq war, I'd like to know the approximate total of the Iraqis who have been killed. And by Iraqis, I include civilians, military, police, insurgents, translators...

and

QUESTION: Mr. President, I would like to know why it is that you and others in your administration keep linking 9/11 to the invasion of Iraq when no respected journalists or Middle Eastern expert confirmed that such a link existed.

The result:

Headlines >>

"Bush says 30,000 Iraqis killed since war began"
"Bush would go into Iraq again (knowing what he knows today)"

Rove would have never of allowed this, I wonder why he might be distracted these days :-)

1. They are prescreened.
Everything is a propaganda event to keep selling his immoral and illegal war.

12. could be a setup by a "pseudo-liberal"
a plant who presents a moderate position who is "educated" by Junior's erudite answer. Dopey is reaching out to all Americans...

15. Or more likely (and scarier if you're Bush and Rove), is that
These are pre-screened Republicans who support Bush but are developing serious questions about the policy.

19. That's what I thought.
They gave her what they considered the "trickiest" question, and Bush had a tailor-made answer prepared, which, of course, failed to answer the question to begin with.

It's all just stagecraft.

3. Either that or they did allow it
To show how they do "connect" with real people and to turn people around on him for his poll raitings.

13. I hate him.
I don't know that I have ever hated someone like this before. But watching the videos, I realized I was repeating over and over to myself how I hated him.

When will this be over? Will we, as a country, survive this insanity?

6. They were PLANTS in a friendly crowd, RINGERS.
Sabra, you know better than that!

No way in hell they let him answer those without the complete set-up. Bush can't answer his name extemporaneously.

16. Of course he would attack today, even knowing there were no WMD.
After all, he attacked in 2003, knowing there were no WMD. I think I'm going to invest in nose rings, the kind that are used for cattle, because that's exactly how bush is leading his followers.

10. well Rove knows that if a bigger tree falls in the forest
it will mask the sound of the smaller tree crashing over, so don't expect Rove to prop up crap that's falling over anyway if he can hide during the distraction.

14. I think they're doing it so show that they are fallible
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 02:23 PM by notadmblnd
(my paraphrasing)

heard it on one of the Sunday news shows that they have to be able to admit that they have made some mistakes (no mention of them actually taking responsibility for them though) to show the Merikan people they are human and to gain support for *bush. They also said that *bush must succeed in Iraq or else he would go down as the worst president, but if he could turn it around and "stay the course" and "gain victory", he'll be deemed one of the greatest.

Just makes a person want to :puke:

17. Brian Williams is taping NBC's annual fellate the "president" special
He's spending the whole day with Bush, as Brokaw used to do. The Q & A is designed to make Bush look accessible.
