Fear Not Catholics; Walmart is Okay
As heard this morning on Relevant Radio, ".....It is okay to shop at chinamart! It is not chinamart’s fault, I mean we are only talking about a few small issues with contractors here. And health care, come on folks, who can afford to provide that in this day and age?".....

Good old tax free radio just pulled a Faux News on the chinamart issues.

That is all, keep sending the Vatican your hard earned dollars.

3. I clicked it, but I've never heard of "Relevant Radio" before
and I am Catholic (and I don't shop at Walmart nor do I give money to the Church...)

4. Well, they could be feeding the poor.
But, apparently a nationwide radio network is more important to them. :eyes:

I strongly suggest you tune in occasionally to hear what is being put out there on the airwaves.

5. actually Catholic Charities do feed some of the poor...

Vatican's got some big bucks...they use some of it for good and other parts for proselytizing and other means of growing the flock. I've always been a critic of it as I am sure much of it is misused.

Staunchly conservative Catholics tend to get political and those of us on the left love to point out that if there is anyone should understand and enforce the separation between church and state, it is us. There is a RW Catholic movement that I want no freaking part of. Please remember that not all (or even half of IMHO) Catholics buy this BS! There was some Catholic conservative ass clown from one of these movements on the tube a few months back crowing about the merits of how "we are gaining grounds." They are little more than tools of the fundie right in this country. They are tools of people who don't even consider Catholics to be Christians. Pathetic.

6. Relevant Radio is the tradionalist Catholic Radio network
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 10:08 AM by CatholicEdHead
It is part right wing Catholic Answers shows and part Ave Maria Radio shows (Tom Monaghan). I call it irelevant radio. It is fundie/Republican radio just slightly tweaked towards a Catholic perspective.

RR is clearly out of line with Catholic teachings on this. They are ignoring the Social Justice parts of the church teachings. This is not suprising with RR, as they were Bush only last fall during the 04 election. Catholic Social Justice teachings keep us idealy away from Walmart, as it is a formal diocese-wide policy here. Get what you need elsewere and only use Walmart as the utterly last resort.

You can stream it online but most satellite stations are in the upper midwest and great lakes area (besides central Florida around the rising gated town of Ave Maria).
