New Orleanians will take care of New Orleans
You have to live here to understand this city. It won't let go. Maybe you've heard some of the songs written about it. Maybe you've seen pictures from Mardi Gras or heard stories about the French Quarter. You don't know New Orleans. To the New York Times, the Washington Post and all the pundits, thanks for your editorials. To those Louisiana politicians who didn't get it and still don't, thanks for your boondoggles. To Mr. Bush and his cronies, thanks for the criminal neglect. To the self-righteous doomsayers, thanks for the sympathy. Now pat yourselves on the back, stumble over yourselves and watch New Orleanians rebuild New Orleans. When you decide to become responsible, when you decide to live up to your obligations, we can talk about the levees. We'll wait.

In the meantime, I'm back. We're back. My daughter's getting married here. There will be celebrations here.

And for your information, on Thursday, December 29 at 5PM, we'll light a 12 foot menorah on Spanish Plaza, celebrating Chanukah-at-Riverwalk. Like we do every year. Just a little light pushing away a lot of darkness.

Come join us.

And checkout nola.com for other events. There's lots happening now. There will be more happening in the weeks and months to come.

Who knows, we may even get a decent owner and a winning team.

1. Whenever ya'll are ready for some tourist dollars
I'll be ready to book some rooms there. I know it must be horribly difficult still...and I've raged on this forum several times about how outrageous it is that our own government would let Americans sleep in tents for the winter. But then, this is a Republican Administration. . .their goal is for all Americans but the top 5% to be living in tents by 2008.

We're behind you, NOLA. . .and we love you.

5. That doesn't seem true...

I don't think that's true. If we all lived in tents we would stink up the nation somthing mighty fierce.

3. Some folks at DFA blog put together businesses to order from.
I thought this was an excellent idea. You might want to share the link. I think I might order from one or two. My heart is with New Orleans.

I hate these fucks were able to do this to my home, i will be there once its time to raise my babies.
