I was wondering what happened Kenny Boy and the crooks from Enron...
This is not news by the way, it is from the 5th. I was just wondering and did a quick search to see what they heck happened with these crooks. This is basically what is on the horizon according to this Canadian paper, The National Post:

'Opening an old wound'

(snip)

In mid-January, former CEO Ken Lay, along with former president and chief operating officer Jeff Skilling and chief accountant Richard Causey, will face trial on criminal charges stemming from their alleged roles in the downfall of Enron. All three have pleaded not guilty. Jury selection is expected to start Jan. 17 in what will be one of the biggest and most closely watched white-collar crime trials ever.

It was four years ago today that Enron filed for bankruptcy protection.

The federal court house at which the trial is to take place is just a 10 minute walk from Enron's former headquarters. In anticipation of worldwide attention, audio and video feeds will be arranged.

For those interested in the Enron story I recommend a documentary called Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room based on a book with the same title.

I've been wonderin', too. There are just so many scandals (all involving Repugs, it seems) surfarcing these days, it's hard to keep track!

2. I always remember this phone call recording....
Enron traders derided users

(snip)

In one transcript, a trader asks about "all the money you guys stole from those poor grandmothers of California."

To which the Enron trader responds, "Yeah, Grandma Millie, man. But she's the one who couldn't figure out how to (expletive) vote on the butterfly ballot."

"Yeah, now she wants her (expletive) money back for all the power you've charged right up -- jammed right up her (expletive) for (expletive) 250 dollars a megawatt-hour," the first trader says.

Enron spokeswoman Karen Denne declined comment on the transcripts, but said the company continues "to cooperate fully with all investigations."

3. From a pissed off CA grandfather
I can't wait to see Kenny boy as a defendant in a big time white collar crime trial while the CIA leeak, Delay, Cunningham and Abramoff investigations are still on the front page.

6. also pissed off in CA
swimming in a tank of hungry sharks would be too good for these thieves. Subject them to the righteous wrath of millions of CA rate payers in court, then lock them up for the rest of their miserable lives in San Quentin.

7. Check out a video report from CBS back then, it plays the audio...
of that phone call and give a little retrospective on what was going on back then.
